The only way, not mine.

But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!

if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!’”

However, may the Lord pardon me in this one thing: When my master the king goes into the temple of the god Rimmon to worship there and leans on my arm, may the Lord pardon me when I bow, too.”
19“Go in peace,” Elisha said. So Naaman started home again.
The Greed of Gehazi

“O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

As soon as they had entered Samaria, Elisha prayed, “O Lord, now open their eyes and let them see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and they discovered that they were in the middle of Samaria.
21When the king of Israel saw them, he shouted to Elisha, “My father, should I kill them? Should I kill them?”
22“Of course not!” Elisha replied. “Do we kill prisoners of war? Give them food and drink and send them home again to their master.”
23So the king made a great feast for them and then sent them home to their master. After that, the Aramean raiders stayed away from the land of Israel.

Lord God,
Again I ask you to help me accept your desire over my own. Help me to understand, I don’t have to understand. Let me do your will without question. Open my eyes to “see” your army. Help me to surrender to this life and live it your way with a heart of Joy and Peace. Living to delight you in all my ways.

In Jesus name,
Amen

To Live Larger than me

But the boy’s mother said, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I won’t go home unless you go with me.” So Elisha returned with her.

She fell at his feet and bowed before him, overwhelmed with gratitude.

Lord God, May I have a demanding faith, may I expect your glory to deliver me from my weakness. May I believe wholeheartedly in your ability above my own expectations and release your ability above my flawed past and small faith.

In Jesus name,
Amen

To live completely for the Lord

Remember that you do not judge to please people but to please the Lord.

“Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”

the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing

Lord God,
My my focus be on pleasing you above any other reason, Help me develop a faith that can stand up against any attack, may I rejoice in my struggles and battles to bring all glory to you.

To only hear truth from the Lord in my thoughts

But the king replied sharply, “How many times must I demand that you speak only the truth to me when you speak for the Lord?”

During his reign, however, he failed to remove all the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there.

Jehoshaphat replied, “That’s not the way a king should talk! Let’s hear what he has to say.”

Lord God, Help me to truly HEAR your truth as you speak to me, Protect me from the false thoughts of ideas that come to me. Open my heart to only hear from you and not from my desires. Remove all the false gods I live with and help me surrender my entire spirit over to your care. Help me to speak your truth to myself and my family.

Simple path made difficult by my decisions.

Meanwhile, the Lord instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, “Hit me!” But the man refused to hit the prophet. 36Then the prophet told him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me.” And when he had gone, a lion did attack and kill him.

Lord God,
May I follow your instruction and not question you with why or how. Help me to truly Trust in you and release my desire to control anything and follow your path without looking left or rite.

In Jesus name,

Quiet and strong

Then the Lord said to Elijah, 3“Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook, near where it enters the Jordan River. 4Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them to bring you food.”

And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”

prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant.

It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 13When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave.

Lord God,
May I have a faith so pure that I don’t question you on anything. May I place my entire life in your care. Give me a faith that can reach others and stand strong against this fallen world. May I here your gentle whisper in this loud world.

In Jesus name,

Lord God, protect my path. Show only Truth.

He sought his father’s God and obeyed his commands instead of following the evil practices of the kingdom of Israel. 5So the Lord established Jehoshaphat’s control over the kingdom of Judah.

He was deeply committed to#17:6 Hebrew His heart was courageous in. the ways of the Lord. He removed the pagan shrines and Asherah poles from Judah.

Then the fear of the Lord fell over all the surrounding kingdoms so that none of them wanted to declare war on Jehoshaphat.

Lord God, my Father,
May I only follow your will this day and may you fortify my path to protect me from the enemy that wants me to stray. Give me a courageous faith that reflects your goodness to this world. May evil and all it’s influence be revealed in truth.

Single focus, single God

Asa’s heart remained completely faithful to the Lord throughout his life.

So Judah defeated Israel on that occasion because they trusted in the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty!

The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him,

Lord God,
May I follow you at all times, protect me from anything that may distract me from your will. Give me victory over the enemy who wants to quiet me, allow me to bring glory to you in all I do. May I cry out to you in times of trouble and not take my eye off of you. Be with me in ways I can’t understand and may I delight you this day.

To live and reflect only His glory

But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers.

I ripped the kingdom away from the family of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like my servant David, who obeyed my commands and followed me with all his heart and always did whatever I wanted.

Lord God,
Help me to release my love for my own advice and help me to only listen for your advice. May my wisdom only come from you and not my own experience. May I make all you have trusted me with reflect your glory.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Not only do it His way but finish it as well.

Finishing is better than starting.
Patience is better than pride.

Accept the way God does things,
for who can straighten what he has made crooked?

Better to hear the quiet words of a wise person
than the shouts of a foolish king.
18Better to have wisdom than weapons of war,
but one sinner can destroy much that is good.

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Lord God,
Give me direction, give me focus to complete what I have started. Lord there is reward in finishing a task and peace in a project taken to completion. Let me hear you quiet voice and ignore my confused desire. May I trust in your timing and not fight you with my wisdom but surrender to yours.

In Jesus name,
Amen
