No accounting of this money was required from the construction supervisors, because they were honest and trustworthy men. 

The men in charge of the renovation worked hard and made steady progress. They restored the Temple of God according to its original design and strengthened it. 

The prophets warned them, but still the people would not listen.

“This is what God says: Why do you disobey the Lord’s commands and keep yourselves from prospering? You have abandoned the Lord, and now he has abandoned you!”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to get past my selfish desire and honor you with my thoughts and actions. Help me to work hard in your work to bring honor to your name. Help me to listen and obey your command.

And as long as the king sought guidance from the Lord, God gave him success.

His fame spread far and wide, for the Lord gave him marvelous help, and he became very powerful.

But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart directed towards you and protect me from growing proud in your blessing. May I only honor you in all my desires and not desire to be noticed for myself.

This time Jonah obeyed the Lord’s command and went to Nineveh,

The people of Nineveh believed God’s message, and from the greatest to the least, they declared a fast and put on burlap to show their sorrow.

When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.

Lord God my Father,

I am grateful for your grace in my life, I am sorry for struggling with your desire for me and falling short. Give me strength and desire to move as you desire and delight in doing your will.

So the priests agreed not to accept any more money from the people, and they also agreed to let others take responsibility for repairing the Temple.

He was buried among the kings in the City of David, because he had done so much good in Israel for God and his Temple.

 God will overthrow you, for he has the power to help you or to trip you up.”

But Amaziah refused to listen, for God was determined to destroy him for turning to the gods of Edom.

Lord God my Father,

Bring my heart under your authority and lead me to do your will on your terms in your time. Overthrow your enemy in my presence and cause me to listen to your desire.

 “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! 12Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.

Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from my expectations so I don’t put limits on your plan. Help me to have faith in your delivery and have a confidence as you use me.

 “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” So they went on together.

Nevertheless, he continued in the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had committed and led the people of Israel to commit.

While the harp was being played, the power

So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. 6Soon every container was full to the brim!

She fell at his feet and bowed before him, overwhelmed with gratitude. 

And when they gave it to the people, there was plenty for all and some left over, just as the Lord had promised.

Lord God my Father,

Give me a faith without doubt. Protect me from deceit and make my path obvious to me. Give me a heart to follow you without pause and have a heart of deepest gratitude. Help me to trust your plan.

“Because of the violence you did to your close relatives in Israel,1:10 Hebrew your brother Jacob. The names “Jacob” and “Israel” are often interchanged throughout the Old Testament, referring sometimes to the individual patriarch and sometimes to the nation. You will be filled with shame and destroyed forever.

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from wondering away from you, keep me close so your desire will rest on me in all things.

‘Whenever we are faced with any calamity such as war,20:9 Or sword of judgment; or sword, judgment. plague, or famine, we can come to stand in your presence before this Temple where your name is honored. We can cry out to you to save us, and you will hear us and rescue us.’

Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 

Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm.

Lord God my Father,

I cry out to you to heal our land and bring your people back to you. Destroy the enemy and unite us under your truth. Soften the hearts of your people to your way.

For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day.They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble.

Lord God my Father,

Give me discernment over good and evil and keep me in your truth and desire.

Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what the Lord says.”

An Aramean soldier, however, randomly shot an arrow at the Israelite troops and hit the king of Israel between the joints of his armor.

“Is there not also a prophet of the Lord here? We should ask him the same question.”

But Micaiah replied, “As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what my God says.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me focus to seek your desire for all my decisions and courage to follow you.
