The Word made flesh.
By spending time in the word we get to know Jesus and by meditation on the word we allow Jesus to teach us.
Lord God, open my heart to want you.

Why am I so stubborn in my walk.
But the lord our God handed him over to us, and we crushed him, his sons, and all his people. 34We conquered all his towns and completely destroyed everyone—men, women, and children. Not a single person was spared. 35We took all the livestock as plunder for ourselves, along with anything of value from the towns we ransacked.
The Lord wants to hand over our enemies if we will follow his command. Then we will have riches of plunder abundant. We learn from our struggles, as we overcome them we grow in confidence, experience and courage as a benefit of the struggle. God wants to hand over riches but we are stubborn and have our own ideas of how this life should go.
Lord God, Help me to trust in you to hand over the enemies in my life, help me to completely wipe out all evil I live with and allow to separate me from your glory.

I need to drive out the natives within me to create a Holy land for the Lord to live in.
But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live. 56And I will do to you what I had planned to do to them.”
How often do I fail to drive out the occupants of myself that are not of God. I must pursue and with God’s help ruthlessly drive out the areas of sin that separate me from God’s glory.
Lord God, Thank you for being a patient God and help me to identify and with the Holy Spirit which lives in me, drive out the hurts, hangups and fears that live within me to create a Holy temple for you to do your work in.

Wholeheartedly
Of all those I rescued from Egypt, no one who is twenty years old or older will ever see the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they have not obeyed me wholeheartedly.
I would like to think I obey the Lord most of the time. So how do I obey wholeheartedly, how do I surrender ALL my will to the will holding on to nothing. It is amazing the feeling of peace as I identify and area and surrender it but it is amazing how hard it is to find things I live with everyday I need to release and trust God to free me of.
Lord God,
There is a war raging in my spirit. I want to honor you with my whole person but I struggle so much with holding back parts of my life and attitude. Please help me to surrender my whole being and not meet you in an attitude of defense to justify areas I have not dedicated to you.

Eyes open to what?
But Balaam replied to Balak, “Didn’t I tell you that I can do only what the lord tells me?”
By now Balaam realized that the lord was determined to bless Israel, so he did not resort to divination as before.
This is the message of Balaam son of Beor,
the message of the man whose eyes see clearly,
16the message of one who hears the words of God,
who has knowledge from the Most High,
Balaam concluded his messages by saying:
“Alas, who can survive
unless God has willed it?
Oh to be as wise as a donkey
Then the lord gave the donkey the ability to speak. “What have I done to you that deserves your beating me three times?” it asked Balaam.
29“You have made me look like a fool!” Balaam shouted. “If I had a sword with me, I would kill you!”
30“But I am the same donkey you have ridden all your life,” the donkey answered. “Have I ever done anything like this before?”
“No,” Balaam admitted.
31Then the lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the lord standing in the roadway with a drawn sword in his hand. Balaam bowed his head and fell face down on the ground before him.
We have to be aware of how the Lord works in those around us as well as in us directly.
Lord God Almighty,
Please allow my eyes to be open for you in all things around me. In people, situations and all things around me so I may do your will.

Why is the conflict between the Lord and his people so constant.
The Israelite’s suffered so much from Egypt to all the trials in the wilderness and witnessed deliverance from the Lord so many times yet still rebelled against the Lord, Moses and Aron. It is easy to be amazed at their stubbornness and deny our own.
Lord, Soften my hardness of heart and release my own way to yield to your desire for me. Help me to be Holy and not sinful.

Bargain with the Lord?
And the lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?
Then the lord said, “I will pardon them as you have requested.
Go figure, The Israelite’s disobeyed the Lord because of their weak faith and fear, God gets tired, wants to destroy them, Moses actually changes God’s mind. Weather Moses changed God’s mind or This was God’s plan from the beginning, Moses had to plea with the Lord.
Lord God, Help me to be in harmony with you today and be close enough to you to hear your direction for me and allow me to be so close I will talk to you with you about all decisions made today.

Calling on the Lord
And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” 36And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!”
Calling on the Lord before doing all things, I think I will try to be aware to this and see how it goes.
Lord God,
Thank you for being with me at all times, help me be aware of you and cal on you in all things I do. May it be for your honor.

Numbers 7, why to tedious
12 times the same offerings were listed then summed up at the end.
One, why is it so difficult for me to read the whole thing and not jump to the end?
Two, why is it repeated identical each time 12 times?
Three, why am I so impatient?
One, I am lazy and want the message before I can wait for His inspiration.
Two, Each tribe is as important to God as the other and deserve direct instruction so things are clear.
Three, I tend to be in too much of a hurry to listen for God in “all” things.
Just a thought from the moment.
Lord God, Thank you for pointing out areas I struggle to hold on to, help me to surrender “all” things over to you.
