I want to obey you but I have lived with compromise so long I don’t know how to surrender it to your care and defeat it. Lord God, give me power to forever defeat the ways in me that separate me from your presence.

But do not rebel against the lord or against us by building an altar other than the one true altar of the lord our God.

“So fear the lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the lord alone.

Lord God,
Reveal the idols I put before you in my life. Purify my heart so I may serve you completely. Lord God put your desire on my heart before my own and protect my eyes from looking off your path before me. May I serve and delight you only.

May I have the courage and faith to do your will and defeat the forces in my life that keep me from walking completely with you so I may have your rest in my life.

Lord God my father,
I submit to your authority and confess my sins to you. There are things in my life I want even when they are bad for me and forbidden by you. I have idols in my life that come before you. Lord God I am tired of fighting your will. Give me power to slay the idols in my life and worship you wholehearted this day.
