Asa’s heart remained completely faithful to the Lord throughout his life.

The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him,

Lord God,
May I follow you at all times, protect me from anything that may distract me from your will. Give me victory over the enemy who wants to quiet me, allow me to bring glory to you in all I do. May I cry out to you in times of trouble and not take my eye off of you. Be with me in ways I can’t understand and may I delight you this day.

But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers.

I ripped the kingdom away from the family of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like my servant David, who obeyed my commands and followed me with all his heart and always did whatever I wanted.

Lord God,
Help me to release my love for my own advice and help me to only listen for your advice. May my wisdom only come from you and not my own experience. May I make all you have trusted me with reflect your glory.

Finishing is better than starting.
Patience is better than pride.

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant.
If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Lord God,
Give me direction, give me focus to complete what I have started. Lord there is reward in finishing a task and peace in a project taken to completion. Let me hear you quiet voice and ignore my confused desire. May I trust in your timing and not fight you with my wisdom but surrender to yours.

So I saw that there is nothing better for people than to be happy in their work. That is our lot in life.

It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it.

Lord God,
Help me to release my jealous nature, take my resentment and bring me peace and contentment in all you have provided for me. Help me to keep my mind open and my mouth shut. Help me to surrender to your peace instead of struggling for control.

Evil people don’t understand justice,
but those who follow the Lord understand completely.

The righteous despise the unjust;
the wicked despise the godly.

Lord God,
Take the anger and evil from me, Protect me from those who agitate and help me to be wise. Deliver me from my wicked ways and make me righteous in your ways.

As a dog returns to its vomit,
so a fool repeats his foolishness.

Lord God,
Protect me from my own foolishness. Help me make a path out of my repeated cycle of foolishness.
Take my will and replace it with yours.

In Jesus name,

He completed everything he had planned to do.

Lord God,
Give me direction and courage to complete what I know I should do this day.
In Jesus name,

then hear their prayers and their petitions from heaven where you live, and uphold their cause. Forgive your people who have sinned against you.

‘Why did the Lord do such terrible things to this land and to this Temple?’
22“And the answer will be, ‘Because his people abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why he has brought all these disasters on them.’”

Lord God,
Forgive me , forgive me of my sinful way of thinking and acting. Sure I do ok most of the time but even I despise some of my thoughts, desires and actions. Lord God, I beg of you to heal me from my past ways and deliver me into your way today so I may live truly blessed in my spirit, pleasing you in ALL I am and do. It is for you I surrender my will.

Lord God,
Be with me give me power over my thoughts and actions to keep them pure and in your favor. Allow me to follow you completely and not to stray.

We can make our own plans,
but the Lord gives the right answer.

A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
34then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Lord God,
May my plans be based on your desires, my plans often fail. May you bless all I do and may it be for your glory. Protect me from my selfish ways and lead me to life. Keep me from my own desire to rest when I can be working on releasing your glory in the world around me.
