Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the lord your God must die. In this way you will purge the evil from Israel. 13Then everyone else will hear about it and be afraid to act so arrogantly.

You may only cut down trees that you know are not valuable for food. Use them to make the equipment you need to attack the enemy town until it falls.

Lord God,
May I have the courage to fight the enemy in my life I haven’t let go of and surrender my will to do your will. Your way leads to freedom, my way to bondage to my weakness, deliver my to your glory to the life you have promised. Give me power to slay the ways I follow that do not come from you directly.

The godly are showered with blessings;
the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.

To learn, you must love discipline;
it is stupid to hate correction.

Lord God,
Remove any of the wicked ways I still hold on to. Remove the frustration, resentment, control, and change my perspective and replace it with yours so I may be totally free to delight in you. Help me to delight in these changes and not hold on to my past.

Lord God,
I admit I try to manage your desire, I try to align it with my own. Lord God, I surrender to your will, remove my desire and replace it with your own. Allow me to walk boldly in your path and have the courage to defeat my broken way.

Open my heart to your truth, keep me from growing stronger but make me weaker so I may trust in you more, trust in you for everything. Give me strength and focus on your task for me today. May I allow you and only you to be my God this day.

Lord God,
I see your mercy all around me and struggle to be completely with you. Lord God, protect me from my sinful way and deliver me to your presence. I want to live only for you. Give me faith to do your will.

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

Lord God,
May I without distraction obey you, Fill and protect my mind and spirit with your desire not allowing the distractions around me to get in your way so I may do only your will. May my desires be completely surrendered to you.

The angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah’s wife and said, “Even though you have been unable to have children, you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a son.

Lord God my Father,
I have sinned against you by allowing my actions to be guided by my sinful nature, purify me and make me Holy in your site. Create in me a light this world needs, a light of your truth. Gove me patience and persistence to reflect your desires for your people.

As soon as Gideon died, the Israelites prostituted themselves by worshiping the images of Baal, making Baal-berith their god. 34They forgot the Lord their God, who had rescued them from all their enemies surrounding them.

And you have chosen his slave woman’s son, Abimelech, to be your king just because he is your relative.

Lord God my Father,
Keep my thoughts pure and focused only on you, give me power over the desires of this world and protect me from temptation. Keep my actions anchored in your desire.
