For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord and had not failed to keep any of the Lord’s commands all the days of his life—except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.

 The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. 

All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

 Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians. 

Lord God my Father,

Thank you for your great mercy and grace. Help me to allow your heart to rest with me and remove the compromise I am comfortable with. Show me how to move out of my present and into your tomorrow. Surround me with like minded men and strengthen our faith and create a foundation that leads to you in all our actions and thoughts. Help us to seek you in all things.

Those from every tribe of Israel who set their hearts on seeking the Lord, the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices to the Lord, the God of their ancestors. 

“Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak. 8They will, however, become subject to him, so that they may learn the difference between serving me and serving the kings of other lands.”

Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord’s anger turned from him, and he was not totally destroyed. Indeed, there was some good in Judah.

Lord God my Father,

Search me and know my heart. Remove my selfish desires and place in me the desires you designed for me. Help me to get past my own self inflicted barriers and move me forward in my walk with you in ways that show your glory in all I do. You are my only desire.

Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede with the Lord your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before.

The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (But he was lying to him.) 

You came back and ate bread and drank water in the place where he told you not to eat or drink. Therefore your body will not be buried in the tomb of your ancestors.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from testing you and having to ask forgiveness. Show me the path that is straight and give me wisdom to stay on it, not straying to my desires that do not honor you. Keep deceit at bay and allow your Peace to grow as my guide and protect me. I want to know you so I may follow you directly.

“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31Honor her for all that her hands have done,

Lord God my Father,

Allow me to hear your desire and put it into action. Bring my family under your guidance and bless my wife who loves you.

“Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. 

Lord God my Father,

Allow your Peace to be the most powerful influence in my life. Protect and give me discernment when this Peace is under attack. Allow me to rest in your plan and not stray with my thoughts.

Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.

God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.”

Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.

Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. 

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. 14For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me in your stillness, help me to see the peace below the surface. I don’t need to understand, just trust in your plan. Protect me from the darkness that lurks and allow your way to rest comfortably within me.

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

“For whom am I toiling,” he asked, “and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” This too is meaningless— a miserable business!

Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God. 20They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.

The more the words, the less the meaning,

Lord God my Father,

Lord God, your design is perfect and my desire to understand keeps me from understanding. Help me find the Peace you designed for me so I may allow your understanding to rest on me. Bring your delightful desire to rest in me and keep me at Peace with today’s struggles. Show me how to experience your delight in all situations and not allow negativity to darken my spirit.

The rich are wise in their own eyes; one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.

By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.

Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.

The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.

Lord God my Father,

Give me your wisdom in every situation before me today. Be my discernment and help me to capture my thoughts that honor you and place boundaries to all other. Keep me in your stillness and show me how to protect it.

Like a muddied spring or a polluted well are the righteous who give way to the wicked.

It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.

A lying tongue hates those it hurts, and a flattering mouth works ruin.

Lord God my Father,

Protect my heart and thoughts, keep me from straying towards darkness. Help me to be reasonable with myself and not allow anything other than Peace to rest well with me. You are in control of all things, I don’t need to understand your plan, just follow your lead.

May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who is the Maker of heaven and earth.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

I praise you for you made all thing and rule over all. Your delight is greater than all creation. Keep me close and in heart felt connection with you in all things. and let all I do bring you praise.
