But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.

: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you. 24But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. 

Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?

Since my people are crushed, I am crushed; I mourn, and horror grips me.

Lord God my Father,

Give me discernment over deceit, allow me to place boundaries to protect my spirit and keep me in your desire in all things. Help me to keep my eyes on you in all things and not reject you for self. Help me to not break your heart.

“Your own conduct and actions have brought this on you. This is your punishment. How bitter it is! How it pierces to the heart!”

They have lied about the Lord; they said, “He will do nothing! No harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine.

“A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: 31The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?

Lord God my Father,

Protect my thoughts and my actions so I may be pleasing to you in all things. Shield me from the dark desires that approach me and cause me to allow your Light to overcome the dark distractions that call me. Allow me to speak your truth in Love and respect, to make a difference for you.

They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.

Also, the men of Memphis and Tahpanhes have cracked your skull. 17Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the Lord your God when he led you in the way?

Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.

“Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.”

Lord God my Father,

You are my strength and protector. Keep me close so distraction is kept away. Keep your commands fresh on my heart and turn me from my evil ways. Direct my walk today and direct me to your glory. Remove my desire to look back.

At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, ‘The Lord will do nothing, either good or bad.’

the unrighteous know no shame.

‘Surely you will fear me and accept correction!’ Then her place of refuge would not be destroyed,

Lord God my Father,

Shape me into your desire so I may not be complacent, bring a desire to be just and not judgmental. Help me to see your path and stay true to you only.

Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.”

because you tore your robes and wept in my presence, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20Therefore I will gather you to your ancestors, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place.’ ”

Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.

Lord God my Father,

Purge me from my evil nature and set me on your path. Turn my heart towards your face and draw me near. Help me to worship you with every breath and reflect your nature.

No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.

Lord God my Father,

Protect and purify your people and make us great against the darkness.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. 8With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.”

So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them on every side. 

But unlike his father Manasseh, he did not humble himself before the Lord; Amon increased his guilt.

Lord God my Father,

Give me strength and courage to boldly live this day for you and give me focus to complete task honoring you. Keep shame and doubt away and deliver me from my evil ways. Purify me and cause your desire to grow in strength within me.

the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.

From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord. 24“And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”

Lord God my Father,

I am your servant, remove my perspective from my service. Make me new in your image. You are my Lord, my God. Your way is perfect, help me to stay focused on you and not fall to temptation.

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

Lord God my Father,

You are everything good, help me to keep my focus on you and rest in your presence.

if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, vand if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, 14then you will find your joy in the Lord,

Lord God my Father,

I delight in your way. Protect me from my sinful desires and overwhelm me with your Truth. Keep me true to your design for me.
