And because the Israelites forsook the Lord and no longer served him, 7he became angry with them. He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the Ammonites, 8who that year shattered and crushed them. 

Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, “We have sinned against you, forsaking our God and serving the Baals.”

But the Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.” 16Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer.

Jephthah said to them, “Didn’t you hate me and drive me from my father’s house? Why do you come to me now, when you’re in trouble?”

“My father,” she replied, “you have given your word to the Lord. Do to me just as you promised, now that the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. 

Lord God my Father,

Focus my heart’s desire to serve you only, keep me from foolish promises. Bless any action I have that brings you glory and keep me from serving myself above you. Bring a stillness to my thoughts that allows me to hear you at all times. Keep me from allowing thoughts that don’t come from you.

In Jesus name I pray,

But Gideon told them, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you.” 

No sooner had Gideon died than the Israelites again prostituted themselves to the Baals.

Lord God my Father,

You are the only one that rules over me. I pray anyone of authority would be under your authority. Keep my heart focused on you and not false rullers.

The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites. 

The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the Lord caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords.

Lord God my Father,

Protect my heart and keep me from evil thoughts. Give me strength to destroy the evil within and around me. Keep me from questioning your strength in me and cause confusion to overwhelm the enemy of your Truth.

In Jesus name I pray,

The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord; they forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs. 

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel.

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, now that Ehud was dead. 

On that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan before the Israelites. 24And the hand of the Israelites pressed harder and harder against Jabin king of Canaan until they destroyed him.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart close to you and protect me from evil that is waiting for me. Give me the strength I need to stay strong in your work and in my thoughts.

In Jesus name I pray,

love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

If you violate the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the Lord’s anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you.”

And the Lord drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God.”

 “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord,

Lord God my Father,

Help me to identify areas of my life that I have not surrendered to you and help me be obedient. Help me to live in your delight and not disappoint you and bring praise to you. Help me to understand how you will fight for me so I don’t have to so I may witness your amazing design. Help me to make you my only God.

So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. 44The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. 45Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to trust you in all things and not try to understand how your plan is to play out. Help me to live your plan, knowing you are in control.

‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’

 but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to have faith in your plan and stand firm in your desire. Grant me the strength to stand in your plan above my own desires. Help me to protect the blessing you have granted me.

The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord.

So Joshua saved them from the Israelites, and they did not kill them. 27That day he made the Gibeonites woodcutters and water carriers for the assembly, to provide for the needs of the altar of the Lord at the place the Lord would choose. And that is what they are to this day.

The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely at Gibeon.

There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!

All these kings and their lands Joshua conquered in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Lord God my Father,

Make me aware of the deceiving ways of the world and protect me from following it. Help me to Hear you and follow only you. Give me courage to do your will without delay and expect your delivery. Help me to conquer all the evil that rest in me and become purified to your will.

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land.

But the Israelites were unfaithful in regard to the devoted things; Achan son of Karmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of them. So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel.

Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions.

 I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.

Lord God my Father,

I pray you will be with me for your Glory to shine from me for your purpose. Keep me focused on your path and keep me secure in your desires and protect me from my sinful way. Make me obedient like I never have been before. Help me to destroy the selfishness that desires to live in me.

In Jesus name I pray,

“The Lord has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the people are melting in fear because of us.”

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”

He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”

Lord God my Father,

You have given me a path to follow which all the battles have been taken care of, help me to trust when I am unable to understand. Help me to make myself clean so your plan can thrive in front of me. Help me to believe in your power completely.
