“First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews.7:27 Greek Let the children eat first. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”28She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”29“Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to the disciples, who distributed the food to the crowd.

Testing him, they demanded that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority.

Then at last they understood that he wasn’t speaking about the yeast in bread, but about the deceptive teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Lord God my Father,

Open my eyes so I can see your plan and follow it, Open my heart to understand what your saying to me, give me power over my desire to understand and allow your will to flow thru me without my interference. Help me to allow you to have your way with me.

Herodias’s daughter performed a dance that greatly pleased him, 7so he promised with a vow to give her anything she wanted. 8At her mother’s urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!”

Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. 9“There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!

So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

The people recognized Jesus at once, 55and they ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was. 

When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. 36They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from temptation that causes me to sin, If I am temped give me your strength to do your will. Help me to see opportunity from your perspective to release your glory and expose your plan. As your glory is carried out in me keep me focused on you and not my actions. Help me to recognize you in my walk.

In Jesus name I pray,

And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.

So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

But if any place refuses to welcome you or listen to you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.”

If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.

When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time.

“But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from my unbelief, help me to welcome everything you are. Keep me strong as I am attacked and lead me into your desire.

After John’s disciples left, Jesus began talking about him to the crowds. “What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind? 25Or were you expecting to see a man dressed in expensive clothes? No, people who wear beautiful clothes and live in luxury are found in palaces.

But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.

“I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” 48Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”

Lord God my Father,

Thank you for taking my desire to understand away and for allowing me to understand what you may today. Make me into the vessel you want me to be.

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Lord God my Father,

I ask you to remove my past and place me in your present free from my past.

Many of his disciples said, “This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept it?”

These people honor me with their lips,but their hearts are far from me.9Their worship is a farce,for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’

Lord God my Father,

Give me your understanding, take my desire to understand and allow me to understand. Protect my lips so they may be pleasing to you.

Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff, 30but he passed right through the crowd and went on his way.

“Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 20And they left their nets at once and followed him.

Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil1:23 Greek unclean; also in 1:26, 27. spirit cried out, 24“Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to accept you in all areas, I want to follow you without baggage to confuse me. May your Truth overwhelm any lie I allow to rest on me, Heal me completely to your original design.

Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon-possessed man and the pigs. 17And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone.

The herdsmen fled to the nearby town, telling everyone what happened to the demon-possessed men. 34Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone.

Then those who had seen what happened told the others how the demon-possessed man had been healed. 37And all the people in the region of the Gerasenes begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, for a great wave of fear swept over them.

For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 

Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”

“Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.”

Lord God my Father,

Remove my desire to find comfort in my defects, Clean me from my dysfunctional ways and restore me to the wholeness you created me to be. Rid me of evil, heal me from my life long struggles.

“You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables to teach the others so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled: ‘When they look, they won’t really see. When they hear, they won’t understand.’

“So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”

But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.38Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

 But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”26Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

Lord God my Father,

Open my eyes, ears and heart so I may hear your message clearly, give me an obedient heart to act on your desire in me. Protect me from the lies of this world, give me complete trust in your Truth.

“A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse. 25Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart.

“Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart. 26And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive.

“The people of Nineveh will stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for they repented of their sins at the preaching of Jonah. Now someone greater than Jonah is here—but you refuse to repent.

Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

Lord God my Father,

Bring unity to my thoughts, allow me to come completely under your authority, use me as you wish and make me obedient to your desire.
