Then she gave birth to a son. But the Lord was displeased with what David had done.

“Yes,” they replied, “he is dead.”20Then David got up from the ground, washed himself, put on lotions and changed his clothes. He went to the Tabernacle and worshiped the Lord. After that, he returned to the palace and was served food and ate.

 “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.”

Lord God my Father,

Convict me of straying from your plan and make me comfortable in your Truth. Allow me to see where I struggle to control you and surrender these struggles.

Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed, “Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?”

“Do you really think these men are coming here to honor your father? No! David has sent them to spy out the city so they can come in and conquer it!” 4So Hanun seized David’s ambassadors and shaved off half of each man’s beard, cut off their robes at the buttocks, and sent them back to David in shame.

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart that reaches out to comfort, give me discernment for the motives of my thoughts and may they always be for your service.

 “Go ahead and do whatever you have in mind, for the Lord is with you.”

“O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, I have been bold enough to pray this prayer to you because you have revealed all this to your servant, 

“What more can I say to you about the way you have honored me? You know what your servant is really like.

So the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.

Lord God my Father,

Grow my faith to the point all my desires are under your authority. Set me free to do amazing things for you. Your Love for me is beyond my understanding, I am forever grateful.

When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

I celebrate before the Lord. Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! 

Lord God my Father,

Help me to not worry about the world in my worship and to seek you without compromise.

So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?”The Lord replied to David, “Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you.”

 David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

It is time to bring back the Ark of our God, for we neglected it during the reign of Saul.”4The whole assembly agreed to this, for the people could see it was the right thing to do. 

So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to remember to come to you in all decisions and follow your will only,

This pleased the people very much. In fact, everything the king did pleased them! 

Lord God my Father,

Help me to avoid the deception of the world and only follow you.

In Jesus name I pray,

 So the Lord saved them by giving them a great victory.

So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew some water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But David refused to drink it. Instead, he poured it out as an offering to the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to surrender my desire so you may have your way with me, Use me to do your will in this world, Help me to understand my place in your troops.

In Jesus name I pray,

David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Lord God my Father,

Give me wisdom to walk in this world in such a way the lost seek you. Allow your peace to flow thru me and inspire others to seek you.

“No!” David said. “Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the Lord’s anointed one? 10Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle. 11The Lord forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed! 

I think you should go with me into battle, for I’ve never found a single flaw in you from the day you arrived until today.

My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help.This I know: God is on my side!10I praise God for what he has promised;

Lord God my Father,

Help me to see as you see, Help me to act as you want me to act, Help me to be lead by only you and not pushed by this world.

But the servant said, “I’ve just thought of something! There is a man of God who lives here in this town. He is held in high honor by all the people because everything he says comes true. Let’s go find him.

Now the Lord had told Samuel the previous day, 16“About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel.

At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.

When Saul returned to his home at Gibeah, a group of men whose hearts God had touched went with him. 27But there were some scoundrels who complained, “How can this man save us?” And they scorned him and refused to bring him gifts. But Saul ignored them.

Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he became very angry.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart open to hear you, remove distractions that slow my response to you, may your spirit come on me in powerful ways so I may delight in your way. Give me strength to do your will to reveal your light to the darkness the way you wish.
