“ ‘Cries of fear are heard— terror, not peace. 6Ask and see: Can a man bear children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor,

The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand this.

No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

Lord God my Father,

Allow your Peace to rest on me restore my focus on you. Keep me from trying to understand your way and just allow your way to be my guide. Only your anger is just, I tend to be unjust in my judgment of others. I want to know and trust you in this day of remembering past darkness beyond understand, and the fresh darkness of yesterday. I pray we are at that “Turning Point” where we can unite under your Truth and Peace. Only with you as our common ground can we become one family. Time has shown us yet again as we stray away from you, darkness gains power. Your light is the one and only answer. Thank you for the Old Testament struggles that expose this lesson, may we learn from the past and move forward and into your blessing.

Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send him, and has persuaded you to trust in lies, 32this is what the Lord says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the Lord, because he has preached rebellion against me.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Open my heart so your Truth can lead me out of the darkness I am tempted by. Protect me from the lies of this world and purify me to live your will above my own. Use me for your kingdom purpose is this place.

Although you claim, ‘This is a message from the Lord,’ this is what the Lord says: You used the words, ‘This is a message from the Lord,’ even though I told you that you must not claim, ‘This is a message from the Lord.’ 

Then the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to know you and honor you with all my thoughts, words and actions. Show me how to leave my ways behind and only move forward in your desires. I am tired of holding your way back and rotting in my way. Help me to truly see what is before me.

But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.

But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.

I warned you when you felt secure, but you said, ‘I will not listen!’ This has been your way from your youth; you have not obeyed me.

Lord God my Father,

You are in my heart, keep my thoughts from turning to my mind so I may be led by you. Fight the battles in my spirit and free me to walk this day with you as my only guide. I am not on firm ground without you.

Although our sins testify against us, do something, Lord, for the sake of your name. For we have often rebelled; we have sinned against you.

“If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.

See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me.

Do people make their own gods? Yes, but they are not gods!”

Lord God my Father,

Show me how to protect my thoughts so they don’t grow into a sin. I want to represent you well in all situations so your name shines. Restore me to your design and buffer my sin nature with your nature. I am stubborn, make me stubborn for you alone and not my worldly gods.

In Jesus name I pray,

From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.” 8But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the covenant I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.’ ”

And if they learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives’—even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal—then they will be established among my people.

Lord God my Father,

You have made your way clear, and I have put my own above you. Forgive me and bring your healing over me so I may only know your way. My heart is filled with evil, and it calls to me, help me to ignore my desires and make your desires closer to my heart so I may only follow you.

Discipline me, Lord, but only in due measure— not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing.

‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 

But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.

And if they learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives’—even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal—then they will be established among my people. 17But if any nation does not listen, I will completely uproot and destroy it,” declares the Lord.

These wicked people, who refuse to listen to my words, who follow the stubbornness of their hearts and go after other gods to serve and worship them, will be like this belt—completely useless! 

Lord God my Father,

Thank you for your Grace and fairness. Shape me into your design for me and help me to ignore my sin nature so I may be closer to you. I wish to be obedient to your way above my own. Only your judgment is righteous so keep me from judgmental thinking. Help me to know you and not be stubborn in my ways.

“ ‘The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. 

You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,” declares the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

Show me the idols in my life and show me how to destroy them. Make me obedient only to you. Protect me from the deceiver and the traps set for me so I may rest in your design and desire.

In Jesus name I pray,

But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away. 24They do not say to themselves, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.’

I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to my words and have rejected my law.

the wicked are not purged out. 30They are called rejected silver, because the Lord has rejected them.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me near and open my heart to only know you. Protect me from my sinful desires and allow your Peace to overwhelm my ways so I may know you and live by your design. Place your shield between my and the wicked ways around me, call me your own.

They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

“ ‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me. 20But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,” declares the Lord.

“Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.”

Lord God my Father,

You are my strength and protector. Turn away those who wish to destroy me and show me how to overcome the attacks. Show me your way and provide for my needs and my family’s needs. You are my father and everything good in me comes from you. Cure me from my wondering.
