That is why the Lord’s anger has burned against this land, bringing down on it every curse recorded in this book. 28In great anger and fury the Lord uprooted his people from their land and banished them to another land, where they still live today!’

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. 16For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.17“But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods, 18then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This30:20 Or He. is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”.

But they will begin to worship other gods; they will despise me and break my covenant. 21And when great disasters come down on them, this song will stand as evidence against them, for it will never be forgotten by their descendants. I know the intentions of these people, even now before they have entered the land I swore to give them.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart close to your desire, protect me from the great deceiver and give me a heart that delights in you only.

Do the same if you find your neighbor’s donkey, clothing, or anything else your neighbor loses. Don’t ignore your responsibility.

In this way, you will purge this evil from among you.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart close and my desires under your authority and make me aware of the impurity within.

“Therefore, be careful to obey every command I am giving you today, so you may have strength to go in and take over the land you are about to enter. 9If you obey, you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors and to you, their descendants

Today all of you are doing as you please, 9because you have not yet arrived at the place of rest, the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession. 

“Do not worship the Lord your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods. 5Rather, you must seek the Lord your God at the place of worship he himself will choose from among all the tribes—the place where his name will be honored.

“Your pattern of worship will change. Today all of you are doing as you please, 9because you have not yet arrived at the place of rest, the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep me close and make me aware of my weakness. Hold me up as I begin to slip and make me obedient to your desire only. I wish to do my life as you designed it.

Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 

“But I assure you of this: If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods, worshiping and bowing down to them, you will certainly be destroyed. 20Just as the Lord has destroyed other nations in your path, you also will be destroyed if you refuse to obey the Lord your God.

The Lord your God will drive these nations out ahead of you only because of their wickedness,

Lord God my Father,

Open my heart to find my compromise in your plan that I carry. Help me to follow you without distraction and to trust your plan over my desire to understand.

 you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7Repeat them again and again to your children. 

be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.

Lord God my Father,

You are everything good, thank you for being you and allowing me to be so close. Keep me close and open to your desire in my path.

‘Do not be afraid of him, for I have given you victory over Og and his entire army,

 The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.

Lord God my Father,

Give me your Peace where I don’t understand your plan, encourage me to love those who I don’t agree with. Help me to keep my focus on you, the only stable, consistent, Loving God in my life and not on the struggles around me. Guide me to do your will above my own.

Normally it takes only eleven days to travel from Mount Sinai1:2 Hebrew Horeb, another name for Sinai; also in 1:6, 19.

They tell us, “The people of the land are taller and more powerful than we are, and their towns are large, with walls rising high into the sky! We even saw giants there—the descendants of Anak!”’

“But even after all he did, you refused to trust the Lord your God,

 Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see this land because he has followed the Lord completely.

“But the Lord told me to tell you, ‘Do not attack, for I am not with you. If you go ahead on your own, you will be crushed by your enemies.’

“But King Sihon of Heshbon refused to allow us to pass through, because the Lord your God made Sihon stubborn and defiant so he could help you defeat him, as he has now done.

Lord God my Father

Help me to allow your desire to rest on me properly. Help me to see and follow your plan the way you desire and trust you without compromise.

The Lord had defeated the gods of Egypt that night with great acts of judgment!

But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live. 56And I will do to you what I had planned to do to them.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me under your desire so I may not be judged harshly. Make my heart obedient to your plan and remove compromise from my spirit so your Peace rest well with me.

Keep me humble, point out my selfishness where it rests, and stay in front of me so I can follow you completely.

The Lord said to Moses, 2“Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present as special gifts are a pleasing aroma to me; they are my food. 

These offerings are given as a special gift to the Lord, a pleasing aroma to him.

Lord God my Father,

Be with me and guide me to become pleasing to you, help me to move away from the thoughts and actions I have that are not by your desire.
