You have not even lived up to the standards of the nations around you. 8Therefore, I myself, the Sovereign Lord, am now your enemy. I will punish you publicly while all the nations watch. 9Because of your detestable idols, I will punish you like I have never punished anyone before or ever will again.

Then when they are exiled among the nations, they will remember me. They will recognize how hurt I am by their unfaithful hearts and lustful eyes that long for their idols. Then at last they will hate themselves for all their detestable sins.

Soon I will pour out my fury on you and unleash my anger against you. I will call you to account for all your detestable sins.

“Have you seen this, son of man?” he asked. “Is it nothing to the people of Judah that they commit these detestable sins, leading the whole nation into violence, thumbing their noses at me, and provoking my anger? 18Therefore, I will respond in fury. I will neither pity nor spare them. And though they cry for mercy, I will not listen.”

Lord God my Father,

Forgive my sin and give me your power to overcome it. Protect me in my thoughts and actions and turn me back to your Truth, help me to draw others to you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Not my way, His

‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ 5And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for remember, they are rebels—at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.

But when I give you a message, I will loosen your tongue and let you speak. Then you will say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Those who choose to listen will listen, but those who refuse will refuse, for they are rebels.

Then I said, “O Sovereign Lord, must I be defiled by using human dung? For I have never been defiled before. From the time I was a child until now I have never eaten any animal that died of sickness or was killed by other animals. I have never eaten any meat forbidden by the law.”15“All right,” the Lord said. “You may bake your bread with cow dung instead of human dung.”

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from my rebellious nature, keep me close and focused on your Truth. Give me courage and strength to stand for your will no matter the cost to me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Everything

The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.26So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.27And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline:

Lord God my Father,

I depend on you for everything, my hope is in you and my heart desires to do your will. Remove my evil nature so I may delightfully serve you and not judge.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Peace that overwhelms grief

Lord, see my anguish! My heart is broken and my soul despairs, for I have rebelled against you.

“Look at all their evil deeds, Lord. Punish them, as you have punished me for all my sins. My groans are many, and I am sick at heart.”

Lord God my Father,

We are broken and suffering. Open the eyes of your people to the evil that has surrounded us and bring your powerful Peace to overwhelm it.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

In Truth

For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has not abandoned Israel and Judah. He is still their God, even though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.”

Though Babylon reaches as high as the heavens and makes her fortifications incredibly strong, I will still send enemies to plunder her. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Lord God my Father,

You will never abandon us or leave us alone. The struggle of today is designed to keep us connected to you. Soften my desire to understand your plan and keep me obedient to your desire. Protect me from the deceit of the enemy.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One God

You have been deceived by the fear you inspire in others and by your own pride.

Because the whole land is filled with idols, and the people are madly in love with them.

Lord God my Father,

Give rest from fear, allow me to come close to your awesome power and peace. Show me the idols around me and show me how to smash them and have only one God, the one and only.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Quiet

Moab will no longer be a nation, for it has boasted against the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

Humble your people, soften our hearts so we turn back to you as you designed it. Quiet my thoughts so I can hear your Truth only.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Servant

Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to go.”4“All right,” Jeremiah replied. “I will pray to the Lord your God, as you have asked, and I will tell you everything he says. I will hide nothing from you.”

Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we are sending you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us.”

You lie! The Lord our God hasn’t forbidden us to go to Egypt! 3Baruch son of Neriah has convinced you to say this,

Lord God my Father,

Show me what to do and say, use me to start a spirit of hope around me. Make me your servant alone.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His plan

I will wait quietly for the coming day when disaster will strike the people who invade us.

yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!19The Sovereign Lord is my strength!

Lord God my Father,

Your plan is perfect, I wait for you to call. Make me quiet to I may hear your desire and I rejoice in your presence.
In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Willing

Zedekiah was a hard and stubborn man, refusing to turn to the Lord, the God of Israel.14Likewise, all the leaders of the priests and the people became more and more unfaithful.

Lord God my Father,

Soften my heart in my stubborn way and make it willing to follow you. Draw me closer to your desire and farther from mine.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
