“Both of Pharaoh’s dreams mean the same thing. God is telling Pharaoh in advance what he is about to do.

Joseph’s suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials. 38So Pharaoh asked his officials, “Can we find anyone else like this man so obviously filled with the spirit of God?”

So Joseph took charge of the entire land of Egypt. 46He was thirty years old when he began serving in the court of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.

Lord God my Father,

Make me sensitive to your desire so I may honor you, give me your wisdom in my struggles so I may honor you and grow. Give me a spirit of confidence in your plan and courage to overcome my weakness.

In Jesus name I pray,

His will, His way

Judah recognized them immediately and said, “She is more righteous than I am, because I didn’t arrange for her to marry my son Shelah.”

The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.

But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love.

Pharaoh’s chief cup-bearer, however, forgot all about Joseph, never giving him another thought.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to follow your will without delay and bless my work so it lifts you up. Be with me in my struggles and use them for your glory and my growth. Keep my thoughts on your desire only.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Blessed in all things even struggles.

But his brothers hated Joseph because their father loved him more than the rest of them. They couldn’t say a kind word to him.

When Joseph’s brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him.

Meanwhile, the Midianite traders arrived in Egypt, where they sold Joseph to Potiphar,

Lord God my Father,

Protect and bless my actions, keep me safe under your Truth and from the hate it creates in evil. Give me strength in my struggles as your plan unfolds into blessing.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Made strong by my Father

And you promised me, ‘I will treat you kindly.’ 10I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant.

O Lord, please rescue me from the hand of my brother, Esau. I am afraid that he is coming to attack me, along with my wives and children.

But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

If every man among you will be circumcised like we are, 16then we will give you our daughters, and we’ll take your daughters for ourselves.

Lord God my Father

I am not worthy of your grace, yet you freely share it. Forgive and protect me from past offences I have created and bless me in all things. Give me wisdom to see deceit.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Blessed

But God has not allowed him to do me any harm. 8For if he said, ‘The speckled animals will be your wages,’ the whole flock began to produce speckled young. And when he changed his mind and said, ‘The striped animals will be your wages,’ then the whole flock produced striped young. 9In this way, God has taken your father’s animals and given them to me.

For I have seen how Laban has treated you.

Laban got up early the next morning, and he kissed his grandchildren and his daughters and blessed them. Then he left and returned home.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me under your protection and in your plan. Help me to deserve fair treatment so no one will stand against me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His plan without condition.

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew. Esau ate the meal, then got up and left. He showed contempt for his rights as the firstborn.

“How could you do this to us?” Abimelech exclaimed. “One of my people might easily have taken your wife and slept with her, and you would have made us guilty of great sin.”

They replied, “We can plainly see that the Lord is with you. So we want to enter into a sworn treaty with you.

I have already eaten it, and I blessed him just before you came. And yes, that blessing must stand!”

Lord God my Father,

Your plan is beyond my understanding, you use what I see as wrong for your good. Help me to follow your plan weather I understand it or not. Help me to honor you without the need to understand your plan. Release your blessing on my efforts.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His success

“Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”13Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket.

“O Lord, God of my master, Abraham,” he prayed. “Please give me success today, and show unfailing love to my master, Abraham.

So Rebekah covered her face with her veil. 66Then the servant told Isaac everything he had done.

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart that only thinks of your will, prevent me from wandering from your plan and give me success in my day. It is all for your glory.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

The outcry against this place is so great it has reached the Lord, and he has sent us to destroy it.”

Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he worshiped the Lord, the Eternal God.

Lord God my Father,

Clean my heart of worldly things and allow your spirit of truth to rest well with me and guide me forward.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His will, his way

And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

There he built another altar and dedicated it to the Lord,

Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief. “How could I become a father at the age of 100?” he thought. “And how can Sarah have a baby when she is ninety years old?”

Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh.”But the Lord said, “No, you did laugh.”

“I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant. 21I am going down to see if their actions are as wicked as I have heard. If not, I want to know.”

Lord God my Father,

Direct me on how to build an altar to you in my heart and land. Keep my focus in that direction. Help me to believe in your power over my weakness and give me strength to overcome and do your will above mine. I trust in your power and truth; may it guide me towards your desire.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

An Alter

Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!

There he built another altar to the Lord.

“Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart focused on your plan even when I don’t understand it. May I build an alter in my heart and keep it in my sight to remind me of you always and believe completely in your path for me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
