Then the people came to Moses and cried out, “We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes.” So Moses prayed for the people.

But God told Balaam, “Do not go with them. You are not to curse these people, for they have been blessed!”

 “Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God.

Then the Lord gave the donkey the ability to speak. “What have I done to you that deserves your beating me three times?” it asked Balaam.

“Why did you beat your donkey those three times?” the angel of the Lord demanded. “Look, I have come to block your way because you are stubbornly resisting me. 33Three times the donkey saw me and shied away; otherwise, I would certainly have killed you by now and spared the donkey.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart that truly knows your will and strength to follow it. Keep my heart soft enough to hear or see your warning as I begin to stray and discernment to follow your guidance.

The people blamed Moses and said, “If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers! 4Why have you brought the congregation of the Lord’s people into this wilderness to die, along with all our livestock? 5Why did you make us leave Egypt and bring us here to this terrible place? This land has no grain, no figs, no grapes, no pomegranates, and no water to drink!”

because there the people of Israel argued with the Lord, and there he demonstrated his holiness among them.

Lord God my Father

Quiet my thoughts so I may hear your direction and not question your desire for me. Create in me an obedience that honors you and represents you well.

In Jesus name I pray,

The Lord is the one you and your followers are really revolting against! 

What’s more, you haven’t brought us into another land flowing with milk and honey. You haven’t given us a new homeland with fields and vineyards. Are you trying to fool these men?16:14 Hebrew Are you trying to put out the eyes of these men? We will not come.”

But the very next morning the whole community of Israel began muttering again against Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have killed the Lord’s people!”

Then the people of Israel said to Moses, “Look, we are doomed! We are dead! We are ruined! 13Everyone who even comes close to the Tabernacle of the Lord dies. Are we all doomed to die?”

Lord God my Father,

You are the one I complain about when I complain about the world, Keep my heart in your peace at all times so I may trust in your plan and your outcome. Protect me from placing conditions on my faith and wholeheartedly trust you.

In Jesus name I pray,

“If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained. 3“Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”

And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. 9Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. 

Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good.16Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.17And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!

Lord God my Father,

Protect my spirit from griping, keep me so full of your delight I can’t stop worshiping you. Keep me under your authority and blessed. Restore me to my original purpose, to simply delight in your presence.

Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the Lord heard everything they said.

Then the people screamed to Moses for help, and when he prayed to the Lord, the fire stopped.

(Now Moses was very humble—more humble than any other person on earth.)

But not with my servant Moses.Of all my house, he is the one I trust.8I speak to him face to face,clearly, and not in riddles!

But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”31But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” 

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart in your presence so I may not grumble. Keep me in your protection so I don’t stray from you. Quiet my thoughts to I only hear your desire and stand for your plan even when I don’t understand it.

In Jesus name I pray,

The Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron lifted them up and presented them to the Lord as a special offering.

 “We have become ceremonially unclean by touching a dead body. But why should we be prevented from presenting the Lord’s offering at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?”

Lord God my Father,

Guide me to worship you as I should, bring discernment to my thoughts and protect me from wander.

In Jesus name I pray,

 I set apart for myself all the firstborn in Israel, both of people and of animals. They are mine; I am the Lord.”

‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’

Lord God my Father,

Forgive me for my lack of focus in my worship of you. I surrender my will to your care, make me strong in my desire to serve you as I should. May your Peace be my guide.

I will live among you, and I will not despise you. 12I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

“If in spite of all this you still refuse to listen and still remain hostile toward me, 28then I will give full vent to my hostility.

At last the people will pay for their sins, for they have continually rejected my regulations and despised my decrees.

Lord God my Father,

Cleanse my heart so you will not despise me, open my ears to hear you and make my heart obedient to your desire. Remove my sinful nature.

They kept the man in custody until the Lord’s will in the matter should become clear to them.

Any native-born Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the Name of the Lord must be put to death.

The Israelites did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to keep my thoughts in check until your desire is made clear. Help me to own my dysfunction and not blame you or others for it. Quiet my thoughts so I may follow your desires.

In Jesus name I pray,

 I am the Lord.

 This would bring guilt upon them and require them to pay compensation. I am the Lord who makes them holy.”

 I am the Lord who makes you holy.

This day of rest will begin at sundown on the ninth day of the month and extend until sundown on the tenth day.”

 I rescued them from the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”

Lord God my Father,

You are God and way beyond my understanding. Lord God, please cause my heart to rest in you only and direct me away from temptation of this world. Help me to allow you Peace to be my strength and my mind to be in constant Sabath with you, allowing your presence to lead my thoughts toward your will.
