You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes.6I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me.7You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies.

In your majesty, ride out to Victory, defending truth, humility, and justice.

I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.9Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory.

Lord God my Father,

Help me release my desire to your plan, a plan beyond my understanding. Only your desire matters, I trust you. Allow me to hear your desire above my own.

Go away, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping.9The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer.

The nations have fallen into the pit they dug for others. Their own feet have been caught in the trap they set.16The Lord is known for his justice. The wicked are trapped by their own deeds.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Lord God my Father,

You are my protector and delight. Help me to trust in your plan and look past the struggle to the blessing on the other side. Help me to delight in my growth towards you.

O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you.5But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil.

I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me in your favor and protect me from those who don’t know you and wish me harm. You are my hope and protector.

 But David found strength in the Lord his God.

He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.

Lord God my Father,

You are my strength and joy, draw me close and make me aware of my weakness.

I am determined not to sin in what I say.4I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people.

Lord God my Father,

Protect my heart and keep my focused on your glory and past the struggles.

David had just been saying, “A lot of good it did to help this fellow. We protected his flocks in the wilderness, and nothing he owned was lost or stolen. But he has repaid me evil for good. 22May God strike me and kill me25:22 As in Greek version; Hebrew reads May God strike and kill the enemies of David. if even one man of his household is still alive tomorrow morning!”

“Even when you are chased by those who seek to kill you, your life is safe in the care of the Lord your God, secure in his treasure pouch! But the lives of your enemies will disappear like stones shot from a sling!

David replied to Abigail, “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you to meet me today! 33Thank God for your good sense! 

he Lord forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed! But take his spear and that jug of water beside his head, and then let’s get out of here!”

Now may the Lord value my life, even as I have valued yours today. May he rescue me from all my troubles.”

Lord God my Father,

Be with me and help me to keep my emotions in check so your will can have its way. Protect me from sin and plan my path so I may find you. Allow me to see your wisdom in others and keep me in check. Allow your plan to rest on me with your Truth as my discernment.

For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.

Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it.

Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.

Lord God my Father,

You are my protector and strength, keep me close and allow me to see the attack early. When I stray, correct me as you will and fight for me and for your glory.

But David’s men said, “We’re afraid even here in Judah. We certainly don’t want to go to Keilah to fight the whole Philistine army!”4So David asked the Lord again, and again the Lord replied, “Go down to Keilah, for I will help you conquer the Philistines.”

Jonathan went to find David and encouraged him to stay strong in his faith in God. 17“Don’t be afraid,” Jonathan reassured him. “My father will never find you! You are going to be the king of Israel, and I will be next to you, as my father, Saul, is well aware.”

The wicked conceive evil;they are pregnant with troubleand give birth to lies.15They dig a deep pit to trap others,then fall into it themselves.16The trouble they make for others backfires on them.The violence they plan falls on their own heads.

The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.

Love the Lord, all you godly ones!For the Lord protects those who are loyal to him,but he harshly punishes the arrogant.24So be strong and courageous,all you who put your hope in the Lord!

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.He freed me from all my fears.5Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to consult with you, to help me make decisions on what I should do and give me courage to follow you answer. Encourage me and get me out of my sinful way, protect me from those who hate you. May we delight together all day.

David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him. 

Rescue me from my enemies, O God.Protect me from those who have come to destroy me.

But as for me, I will sing about your power.Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love.For you have been my refuge,a place of safety when I am in distress.

Lord God my Father,

Give me your blessing, allow me to serve you with all my heart. Protect me from my enemy so all my focus is on you.

Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle. 12So I said, ‘The Philistines are ready to march against us at Gilgal, and I haven’t even asked for the Lord’s help!’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering myself before you came.”“How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. 

“Do what you think is best,” the armor bearer replied. “I’m with you completely, whatever you decide.”

Then Saul and all his men rushed out to the battle and found the Philistines killing each other. There was terrible confusion everywhere.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart from taking control when I don’t understand you plan, give me a faith that is obedient without question and direct me in today’s actions .
