If you obey, you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors and to you, their descendants

“If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, 14then he will send the rains in their proper seasons

“Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! 27You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today. 28But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the Lord your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before.

Lord God my Father,

I wish to be obedient to you only, expose deceit for what it is and open my eyes to only see your desire. I choose to honor you only.

Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Lord God my Father,

Your goodness guides me, when I wander correct me quickly so I may stay in your desire. Protect me from the ways of the world.

I will live among you, and I will not despise you. 12I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

“If in spite of all this you still refuse to listen and still remain hostile toward me, 28then I will give full vent to my hostility.

At last the people will pay for their sins, for they have continually rejected my regulations and despised my decrees.

Lord God my Father,

Cleanse my heart so you will not despise me, open my ears to hear you and make my heart obedient to your desire. Remove my sinful nature.

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!

And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

Lord God my Father,

Your Peace and Truth are the essence of delight in my life.

And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?”

So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The Lord did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” 

And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said,“We are yours, David! We are on your side, son of Jesse.

Lord God my Father,

Only in you do I find peace and purpose. You give me the power to do your will. Help me to submit to your plan and care for myself so I may do your will with all my strength. Bring a heart in me that only moves in your direction under your authority.

But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children18of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!

When you give them your breath,104:30 Or when you send your Spirit. life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.

I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath!34May all my thoughts be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

Allow me to carry your Love to my family and friends. Allow it to rest in me well and restore my soul. You are the life I seek, you placed life in me, and I will praise you all the time.

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium 14instead of asking the Lord for guidance. 

Lord God my Father,

Make me faithful to your will in all things, protect me from poor decisions which allow compromise in my life.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

I heard an unknown voice say,6“Now I will take the load from your shoulders; I will free your hands from their heavy tasks.7You cried to me in trouble, and I saved you; I answered out of the thundercloud

Oh, that my people would listen to me! OH, that Israel would follow me, walking in my paths!

Lord God my Father,

Make me quiet so I may hear you, your strength restores me and your Truth brings peace. Open my heart so you can have your way with me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.22I was so foolish and ignorant—I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.23Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.24You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.

Lord God my Father,

Clean me and remove my way, restore me to your way and open my heart to your counsel.

They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him. 

But these tribes were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors. They worshiped the gods of the nations that God had destroyed. 26So the God of Israel caused King Pul of Assyria (also known as Tiglath-pileser) to invade the land and take away the people of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh as captives.

Lord God my Father,

I cry out to your healing over my poor thoughts. Make me whole in mind, spirit and action and show me how to bring you all the Glory.
