Then the king instructed Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the Temple gatekeepers to remove from the Lord’s Temple all the articles that were used to worship Baal, Asherah, and all the powers of the heavens. “You felt secure in your wickedness. ‘No one sees me,’ you said. But your ‘wisdom’ and ‘knowledge’ have led you astray, and you said, ‘I am the only one, and there is no other.’11So disaster will overtake you, and you won’t be able to charm it away.

Give me peace where others wish to argue, quiet my spirit to the point of protection and surrender to your desire. May I be bold in my love for others and represent you well. Give me discernment of your will over my own so I can follow you completely.

You are literally everything, you created everything that is and you know me. How amazing it is that in all your greatness, you take time to delight in me and allow me to delight in you. Keep my heart close so I don’t look away. Your plan is perfect, even when I don’t understand it.

Help me to only desire what pleases you and release your design in my life so I may do your will. Give me health and determination to complete your task today and shape as you will.

Look, a righteous king is coming! And honest princes will rule under him.2Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land.

Justice will rule in the wilderness and righteousness in the fertile field.17And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.

But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.

Give me patience for your plan to play out in my life without my desire getting in the way.
