After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned,

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

“A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.

He must become greater; I must become less.”

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,14but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Lord God my Father,

You are the Truth and the Light, in you all things good rest. Thank you for making your Spirit so close that I may feel it when I seek you. Thank you for making me better when I am with you, keep me close so my sinful nature is kept at bay. Your way is delightful and fills me with a Peace that overwhelms. Help me to receive your gift and allow it to transform me to your will with boldness and love.

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’

When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.”11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me humble and trusting in your plan. Keep me from questioning you and just be obedient. Protect me from the tempter and cause him to leave me alone. Remove any evil that rest in me and make me holy so I may serve you and do your will well today. I am a sinner but you define me and make me new, keep fear from finding me.

So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to find your teaching as I should. Keep me honest in all dealings.

“Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

29“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. 30For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: 32a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to seek you well and know you. Reveal you way to me so I may follow it with purpose.

 “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. 

And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 

For no word from God will ever fail.”

38“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”

salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us—

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 

 “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’ ”

“You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.”51He then added, “Very truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’ the Son of Man.”

Lord God my Father,

Allow your Peace to enter me so my fear is kept away, help me to carry your favor as you desire. Your Word is the only Truth, and though I am a sinner, show me Grace and allow me to carry your Truth in Peace and confidence. Make my path straight and keep me from wondering off of it. Thank you for the opportunities of the day.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says to Tyre: Will not the coastlands tremble at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan and the slaughter takes place in you? 16Then all the princes of the coast will step down from their thrones and lay aside their robes and take off their embroidered garments. Clothed with terror, they will sit on the ground, trembling every moment, appalled at you. 

The merchants among the nations scoff at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Protect and restore me to your desire and design. Keep my sinful way from destroying me. Show me how to delight in all things good and bad because you are in control, help me to trust you. I want to shine your light as you desire, keep my desire quiet so yours may rest on me well.

“Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will stir up your lovers against you, those you turned away from in disgust, and I will bring them against you from every side—

“So I will put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not imitate you. 49You will suffer the penalty for your lewdness and bear the consequences of your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.”

“ ‘Now your impurity is lewdness. Because I tried to cleanse you but you would not be cleansed from your impurity, you will not be clean again until my wrath against you has subsided.

14“ ‘I the Lord have spoken. The time has come for me to act. I will not hold back; I will not have pity, nor will I relent. You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions, declares the Sovereign Lord.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Show me how to simplify my heart and only have Love for you. Show me how to love others as you designed it without my desires reshaping it to serve me. Help me to be restored, understanding I am a sinner, but show me how to look past my sin nature to your nature. I want my passion to be in you so I may love louder than the hate so it is noticed by the deceived. Your judgment is welcome even if it caused difficult times for the struggles reveal the wisdom and strength I need to keep my emotions in check.

Because I am going to cut off the righteous and the wicked, my sword will be unsheathed against everyone from south to north. 5Then all people will know that I the Lord have drawn my sword from its sheath; it will not return again.’

And when they ask you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand go limp; every spirit will become faint and every leg will be wet with urine.’ It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me under your care and protect me from the deceiver. Use me to show your way so others may be led to you in your peace within me. Lead me to share your Truth to those who may not know you and warn them of time coming where your wrath separates your people from the lost.

In Jesus name I pray,

“But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. 

Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 

When you offer your gifts—the sacrifice of your children in the fire—you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. 

Then I said, “Sovereign Lord, they are saying of me, ‘Isn’t he just telling parables?’ ”

Lord God my Father,

You are everything good, reveal in me where I have wondered off. I want to do your will in all things this day. Protect and warn me of darkness trying to get my attention and show me how to turn to you at all times. Loving you my way is filled with sin, restore me so I may love you your way and make my heart sincere.

“ ‘Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will surely bring down on your head what you have done, declares the Sovereign Lord. Did you not add lewdness to all your other detestable practices?

All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.

“ ‘I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me and protect me so my thoughts will stay in your desire. Keep me from looking at the distractions so abundant around me. Help me to stay in your protection and nourish me so I may thrive under your care.
