Not fooled

Attack the Midianites and destroy them, 18because they assaulted you with deceit and tricked you into worshiping Baal of Peor

Lord God my Father,

Give me the ability to discern deceit and keep me on the path you desire me to take.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Purpose

When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. He took a spear 8and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man’s body and into the woman’s stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped,

“Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest has turned my anger away from the Israelites by being as zealous among them as I was. So I stopped destroying all Israel as I had intended to do in my zealous anger.

“Attack the Midianites and destroy them, 18because they assaulted you with deceit and tricked you into worshiping Baal of Peor, and because of Cozbi, the daughter of a Midianite leader, who was killed at the time of the plague because of what happened at Peor.”

For the Lord had said of them, “They will all die in the wilderness.” Not one of them survived except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

Lord God my Father,

Cause me to move at your first instruction, help me to see your desire before my own. Help me to guide the lost by example. Help me to carry discernment to the deceit around me so I can bring hope to those around me as well as myself.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Clearly

“Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God.

Balaam’s donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road

“But I am the same donkey you have ridden all your life,” the donkey answered. “Have I ever done anything like this before?”

“Why did you beat your donkey those three times?” the angel of the Lord demanded. “Look, I have come to block your way because you are stubbornly resisting me. 33Three times the donkey saw me and shied away; otherwise, I would certainly have killed you by now and spared the donkey.”

34Then Balaam confessed to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned. I didn’t realize you were standing in the road to block my way.

“Look, now I have come, but I have no power to say whatever I want. I will speak only the message that God puts in my mouth.”

“I will speak only the message that the Lord puts in my mouth.”

“Didn’t I tell you that I can do only what the Lord tells me?”

“This is the message of Balaam son of Beor, the message of the man whose eyes see clearly,

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart close to your desire, protect me from distraction and deceit. Open my eyes so I may see and give me wisdom of when to speak. Help me to hear your guidance and only bring honor to you. Turn me from my broken nature and keep me on your path. Make my lips obedient to your words so I can bring honor to you and you alone. Cause me to see clearly.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Still

“If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers! 4Why have you brought the congregation of the Lord’s people into this wilderness to die, along with all our livestock? 5Why did you make us leave Egypt and bring us here to this terrible place?

So Moses did as he was told.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to look past the current struggle I am focused on to accept your desire without compromise. Help me to release my will to hear your still, quiet voice to guide and do what you ask of me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Stubborn for God

“O God,” they pleaded, “you are the God who gives breath to all creatures. Must you be angry with all the people when only one man sins?”

Lord God my Father,

Give me understanding of how to live. I want to live to please you. Cause me to be an example of the blessing of living for you and turn us, your stubborn people, back to your desire, and bless us.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One desire

“The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! 8And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. 9Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land.

They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice.

Lord God my Father,

You are with me so help me to stop questioning your ability as you direct me. Help me to be blindly obedient to your desire in me and protect me from my sinful nature.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His Servant alone

“When you arrive in your own land and go to war against your enemies who attack you, sound the alarm with the trumpets. Then the Lord your God will remember you and rescue you from your enemies. 10Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too,

And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” 36And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!”

And Moses said to the Lord, “Why are you treating me, your servant, so harshly? Have mercy on me! What did I do to deserve the burden of all these people?

For you have rejected the Lord, who is here among you, and you have whined to him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust. 8I speak to him face to face, clearly, and not in riddles!

Lord God my Father,

Cause me to stand against your enemies trusting in your plan. Help me to move when you tell me and to be still till you do. Help me to not carry your burden but delight in your request and not complain when I get tired. Keep me humble under your authority.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amenh

24‘May the Lord bless you and protect you.

25May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.

26May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’

Offerings of Dedication

So Moses, Aaron, and the whole community of Israel dedicated the Levites, carefully following all the Lord’s instructions to Moses. 21The Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron lifted them up and presented them to the Lord as a special offering.

“Wait here until I have received instructions for you from the Lord.”

Whether the cloud stayed above the Tabernacle for two days, a month, or a year, the people of Israel stayed in camp and did not move on. But as soon as it lifted, they broke camp and moved on.

Lord God my Father,

Bless me and keep watch over me and help me to obey you in all areas of my life. Develop in me the quietness to hear your instructions and the obedience to follow them. Allow me to see your desire above my own.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Lord God my Father,

You have a plan and a purpose for me. Cause me to be faithful to doing your will no matter my struggles with them. Help me to accept what I cannot understand in the direction you have for me.

Follow

“When the Israelites set up camp, each tribe will be assigned its own area.

So the people of Israel did everything as the Lord had commanded Moses. Each clan and family set up camp and marched under their banners exactly as the Lord had instructed them.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to know and do the job you wish for me to do, keep me focused on your will above all else.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
