Peaceful desire, strength.

Again the Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight. They abandoned the Lord and no longer served him at all. 7So the Lord burned with anger against Israel, and he turned them over to the Philistines and the Ammonites, 

The Lord replied, “Did I not rescue you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines, 12the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites? When they oppressed you, you cried out to me for help, and I rescued you.

But the Israelites pleaded with the Lord and said, “We have sinned. Punish us as you see fit, only rescue us today from our enemies.” 16Then the Israelites put aside their foreign gods and served the Lord. And he was grieved by their misery.

 Let the Lord, who is judge, decide today which of us is right—Israel or Ammon.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me on the path you desire and protect me from the deceiver. Allow your Peace to guide me and give me strength to stand against evil. Rescue us and make us yours again.

In Jesus name I pray,

He is God, that’s enough.

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you.” 

So on that day Israel saw God defeat Jabin, the Canaanite king. 24And from that time on Israel became stronger and stronger against King Jabin until they finally destroyed him.

“Lord, may all your enemies die like Sisera!

But may those who love you rise like the sun in all its power!”

“Sir,” Gideon replied, “if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The Lord brought us up out of Egypt’? But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites.”

14Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”

And Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and named it Yahweh-Shalom (which means “the Lord is peace”).

“It is all right,” the Lord replied. “Do not be afraid. You will not die.” 

Then Gideon said to God, “Please don’t be angry with me, but let me make one more request. Let me use the fleece for one more test. 

Lord God my Father,

Give me the confidence to trust in your victory today. Give me strength to stand on your word today without compromise. Protect me from the enemy and love as you desire. Keep me from seeing the obstacles and see only your strength, you are enough for me to overcome temptation as I surrender to your plan. You are God!

Strengthened

When the men of Judah attacked, the Lord gave them victory over the Canaanites and Perizzites,

Every time Israel went out to battle, the Lord fought against them, causing them to be defeated, just as he had warned. And the people were in great distress.

But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord raised up a rescuer to save them. 

Lord God my Father,

Give me victory over the enemy and cause me to be powerful against evil. Fight for me and show your glory ahead of me and use me for your will.

In Jesus name I pray,

One God

None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them conquer all their enemies. 45Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.

We have not built the altar in treacherous rebellion against the Lord. If we have done so, do not spare our lives this day. 23If we have built an altar for ourselves to turn away from the Lord or to offer burnt offerings or grain offerings or peace offerings, may the Lord himself punish us.

This land will be yours, for the Lord your God will himself drive out all the people living there now. You will take possession of their land, just as the Lord your God promised you.

Do not even mention the names of their gods, much less swear by them or serve them or worship them. 8Rather, cling tightly to the Lord your God as you have done until now.

“All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”

24The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord our God. We will obey him alone.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me the strength I need to stand against evil, help me with words and actions that please you. Keep me from misunderstanding and allow me to live close to you. Keep me from false gods and idols and break any strongholds I still carry.

In Jesus name I pray,

Win

And you will drive out the Canaanites from the valleys, too, even though they are strong and have iron chariots.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me the courage and strength to face and defeat my strongholds.

Peace

 And Joshua did as he was told, carefully obeying all the commands that the Lord had given to Moses.

16So Joshua conquered the entire region—the hill country, the entire Negev, the whole area around the town of Goshen, the western foothills, the Jordan Valley,11:16 Hebrew the Shephelah, the Arabah. the mountains of Israel, and the Galilean foothills. 

No one in this region made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites of Gibeon. All the others were defeated. 20For the Lord hardened their hearts and caused them to fight the Israelites. So they were completely destroyed without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to become obedient to your desire, above my own dysfunctional one. Bless me with your Peace and use it to guide me thru this day. Allow your army to defeat what ever stands in your plan for me. Cause Peace to flourish in my day.

Strong by His design.

A man named Achan had stolen some of these dedicated things, so the Lord was very angry with the Israelites.

“Get up! Why are you lying on your face like this? 11Israel has sinned and broken my covenant! They have stolen some of the things that I commanded must be set apart for me. 

Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, by telling the truth. Make your confession and tell me what you have done. Don’t hide it from me.”

Achan replied, “It is true! I have sinned against the Lord, the God of Israel. 21Among the plunder I saw a beautiful robe from Babylon,7:21a Hebrew Shinar. 200 silver coins,7:21b Hebrew 200 shekels of silver, about 5 pounds or 2.3 kilograms in weight. and a bar of gold weighing more than a pound.7:21c Hebrew 50 shekels, about 20 ounces or 570 grams in weight. I wanted them so much that I took them. 

But when the people of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, 4they resorted to deception to save themselves. 

So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the Lord. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep me strong against the deceiver, keep me from taking any glory from you in my actions. Restore me to your purpose and give me strength over my struggles. Cause me to be honest before you, restoring me to my place in your plan. I have sinned against you, keep me from temptation. Cause my enemy to fear you thru the strength you give me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Reputation

Then Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.”

These armed men—about 40,000 strong—were ready for battle, and the Lord was with them as they crossed over to the plains of Jericho.

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to become clean and live under your authority. Be with me as I move thru this day. Make my reputation all about you.

In Jesus name I pray,

His courage

So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, just as the Lord had said. 6The Lord buried him34:6 Hebrew He buried him; Samaritan Pentateuch and some Greek manuscripts read They buried him. in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place. 7Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.

There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face. 

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

They answered Joshua, “We will do whatever you command us, and we will go wherever you send us. 17We will obey you just as we obeyed Moses. And may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses. 18Anyone who rebels against your orders and does not obey your words and everything you command will be put to death. So be strong and courageous!”

Lord God my Father,

Humble me and build me up in your image to do your will. Use me to be strong and courageous in your plan and give me discernment to be obedient to only you!

In Jesus name I pray,

Confidently

O Lord, come back to us!

How long will you delay?

Take pity on your servants!

14Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love,

so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.

Let us, your servants, see you work again;

let our children see your glory.

17And may the Lord our God show us his approval

and make our efforts successful.

Yes, make our efforts successful!

Lord God my Father,

I cry for you to join me today, keep me under your authority and strong against the enemy. Help me to release my doubt and fears, to live confidently and joyfully. Make me successful.
