Sinners will have no place among the godly.

1Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans? 2The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the Lord and against his anointed one. 3“Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.”

But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from deception and sin, keep me close so your strength is mine. Keep me in your Peace and keep me from joining the world in the brokenness. Your Joy delights me and guides me.

Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! 2For the Lord Most High is awesome.

For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us until we die.

With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.

What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord,

Lord God my Father,

You are the creator of delight, help me to seek you well. I wish to only bring worship to you and delight in your presence. You are the designer of my days.

Babylon, the most glorious of kingdoms, the flower of Chaldean pride, will be devastated like Sodom and Gomorrah when God destroyed them.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “I, myself, have risen against Babylon! I will destroy its children and its children’s children,” says the Lord.

23“I will make Babylon a desolate place of owls, filled with swamps and marshes. I will sweep the land with the broom of destruction. I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!”

When oppression and destruction have ended and enemy raiders have disappeared, 5then God will establish one of David’s descendants as king. He will rule with mercy and truth. He will always do what is just and be eager to do what is right.

Lord God my Father,

Crush the leaders leading the people away from you. Make your plan so delightful that all will follow you. Reveal the corruption wherever it rests, starting with the corruption in me. Make us pure so we can delight in you as you desire. Restore us and give discernment to us so we can stand against the darkness. You are God, I am not.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my eyes focused on you, protect me from the darkness that wants to draw me in. It’s only in your power I can delight no matter what the struggle is before me. You are ever present and your strength is so much better than mine.

Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. 6Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. 31Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Lord God my Father,

You are the Truth and your Truth is my Peace and protection. Help your way to rest on me as it should. Open my eyes to have discernment in the world and keep me in your way and away from the way of this world.

If the godly give in to the wicked, it’s like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.

Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.

5Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools, or they will become wise in their own estimation.

When the wicked are in authority, sin flourishes, but the godly will live to see their downfall.

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from falling for any evil deceit, keep me still so I can sense the coming storm. Keep my mouth still and my ears open, help me to only allow you to guide me and be in your Peace.

Our ancestors were unfaithful and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord our God. They abandoned the Lord and his dwelling place; they turned their backs on him.

But now I will make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us. 11My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him.”

 So the people brought their sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings, too. 

There was an abundance of burnt offerings, along with the usual liquid offerings, and a great deal of fat from the many peace offerings.

So the Temple of the Lord was restored to service.

 For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you.”

At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the Lord.

And the Lord listened to Hezekiah’s prayer and healed the people.

The Lord has blessed his people, and all this is left over.”

In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to find you as you desire, lift me up so others can see your glory as I reflect your glory and live by your design. I wish to only serve you, I need to release my broken way to be restored wholeheartedly to your way. Give me strength to perform daily cleansing of my sin nature and not be tempted by it. Cause me to restore this temple you allow me to possess while I am here. Give me a heart that craves you more than anything else but keep me in balance with others so you are seen, not me.

Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled.

Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.

For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face. 9The very look on their faces gives them away. They display their sin like the people of Sodom and don’t even try to hide it. They are doomed! They have brought destruction upon themselves.

The people of Judah are his pleasant garden. He expected a crop of justice, but instead he found oppression. He expected to find righteousness, but instead he heard cries of violence.

Lord God my Father,

You are God, perfect Peace and Love. Keep me close so I can carry your Truth in my walk today. Keep me from stumbling and being led away from you this day. Help me to prune my life and carry the harvest to you.

The coming destruction can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.”

Does a farmer always plow and never sow?

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom.

You must worship only the Lord your God. He is the one who will rescue you from all your enemies.”

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

19If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat. 20But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies.

I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from my own beliefs and keep me under your protection and influence. Allow your Truth to guide me and make me obedient. Your teachings are perfect, open my mind to accept them. Restore me to your design and protect me from the deceiver.

Because of your great sin and hostility, you say, “The prophets are crazy and the inspired men are fools!”

Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’

“You are about to be destroyed, O Israel— yes, by me, your only helper.

Lord God my Father,

Protect me under your authority and keep my sin nature away from my thoughts. Soften my way so your will is the only one in me and draw me closer to your delightful way.
