Strength in Peace

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own.

Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. 12You will live in joy and peace.

I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway! I will lead them. I will comfort those who mourn, 19bringing words of praise to their lips.

“But those who still reject me are like the restless sea, which is never still but continually churns up mud and dirt. 21There is no peace for the wicked,” says my God.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me close and correct my path when I wonder off. Keep wicked from finding me and allow me to see it when it tempts me. Your way is delightful and what my heart desires. Have mercy on the lost and open their eyes to see and allow your peace to rest on their hearts. Allow your Peace to be my strength.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His victory

“But there is no peace for the wicked,” says the Lord.

But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon fall down in great torment.

All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God.

Lord God my Father,

Give me confidence in your plan and help me to look past the darkness around me. Keep me from looking away from you and thinking I am strong without you. Your victory is all I need.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Refined.

Such stupidity and ignorance! Their eyes are closed, and they cannot see. Their minds are shut, and they cannot think. 19The person who made the idol never stops to reflect, “Why, it’s just a block of wood!

“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker?

The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.”

But your ‘wisdom’ and ‘knowledge’ have led you astray, and you said, ‘I am the only one, and there is no other.’ 11So disaster will overtake you,

I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering. 11I will rescue you for my sake—

Lord God my Father,

Open my eyes in areas I am not aware that they are closed. Open my heart to be led by you alone. Cause my actions to reflect your desire above my own and to walk with you without resisting you. You are my strength and purpose, I have been foolish, keep me in your wisdom and refine me as needed.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Strong in His glory.

“See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing.

“Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations.

Let the whole world glorify the Lord; let it sing his praise. 13The Lord will march forth like a mighty hero; he will come out like a warrior, full of fury. He will shout his battle cry and crush all his enemies.

Lord God my Father,

Cause me to rest in your desire and not stray. I will be strong with you and sometimes I will be weak. Strengthen my focus when I am weak so I will not allow darkness into my thoughts. I wish to please you in all my ways and bring you glory in every opportunity.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Humble, united.

When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3“Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.

‘This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord. 6I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria.

“The shadow always moves forward,” Hezekiah replied, “so that would be easy. Make it go ten steps backward instead.” 11So Isaiah the prophet asked the Lord to do this, and he caused the shadow to move ten steps backward on the sundial20:11 Hebrew the steps. of Ahaz!

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live!

Lord God my Father,

I grieve for my own arrogance, bring a stillness to my thoughts so I will only rely on your desire living in me. Help me to witness to the world that you alone are God. People are believing their own power is greater than you and we suffer. Give us all a heart that desires to turn back to you and heal us from our sin. Give your sign to us and show us your way. Discipline us and humble us and bring unity under your authority.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His authority only

But perhaps the Lord your God has heard the Assyrian chief of staff, sent by the king to defy the living God, and will punish him for his words. Oh, pray for those of us who are left!”

One day while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with their swords.

Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to God in heaven. 21And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a sword.

Lord God my Father,

Give me discernment to know who loves you and gather them close. Help me to act as you desire and spread your Love, a love more powerful than anything it comes against. Help me to trust your plan above anything else that comes to mind. I cry out to you to restore me, my family, my church, my town, my country to once again live under your authority.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One way

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Officials and judges alike demand bribes. The people with influence get what they want, and together they scheme to twist justice.

Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! 20You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago.

“Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! 8He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.

Lord God my Father,

You have told me what is good and convict me when I wonder. Help me to stay so close that temptation is kept away and your power overcomes my struggle. Corruption is all around me but I don’t have to be a part of it. Keep me in your Truth and help me to feel your strength above my weakness. Your way is perfect, even when I don’t understand it.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One desire

And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.

But they do not know the Lord’s thoughts or understand his plan. These nations don’t know that he is gathering them together to be beaten and trampled like sheaves of grain on a threshing floor.

I will pour out my vengeance on all the nations that refuse to obey me.”

Lord God my Father,

Open my eyes so I can see your desire and my ears so I may hear your direction. I want to know you and understand enough of your direction for me so I can follow you. Protect and lead me in your will today.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Stillness

“You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.

But the people of God will sing a song of joy, like the songs at the holy festivals. You will be filled with joy,

Then everyone who has eyes will be able to see the truth, and everyone who has ears will be able to hear it. 4Even the hotheads will be full of sense and understanding.

Lord God my Father,

Create in me a stillness that shows your desire in me. Draw me close so I can’t be distracted. Allow your delight to be my desire in how I engage in this day. Give me you’re understanding.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Perfect plan

The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. 6Therefore, a curse consumes the earth.

But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere. 17Terror and traps and snares will be your lot, you people of the earth.

In that day the people will proclaim, “This is our God! We trusted in him, and he saved us! This is the Lord, in whom we trusted. Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!”

You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them. 8 Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.

If I find briers and thorns growing, I will attack them; I will burn them up— 5unless they turn to me for help. Let them make peace with me;

Those who convict the innocent by their false testimony will disappear. A similar fate awaits those who use trickery to pervert justice and who tell lies to destroy the innocent.

Lord God my Father,

Bring me close and protect me from the deception around me. Help me to keep my gaze on you and not on the noise around me. Your plan is perfect, and I am not able to understand it. Allow my faith to guide me in my thoughts and actions. Help me to trust you wholeheartedly.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
