The Lord is a Most Wise Friend, why is it so hard to do what he says.

Inside the Tent of Meeting, the lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend

The lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.”

So Moses chiseled out two tablets of stone like the first ones.

“You must not make a treaty of any kind with the people living in the land. They lust after their gods, offering sacrifices to them.

The Lord wants to speak to us as a friend would. How do I pay honor to the Lord and think of him as a friend.
The Lord says ” I will give you rest-everything will be fine for you.” Wow, to live with that true belief.

Do not have a compromise with anything of this place, trust only in the lord. Don’t trust in your own abilities to protect yourself from the influence of evil.

How hard it is to give all authority over to God.

We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

Then Aaron took the gold, melted it down, and molded it into the shape of a calf. When the people saw it, they exclaimed, “O Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of the land of Egypt!”

Then the lord said, “I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are. 10Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation.”
11But Moses tried to pacify the lord his God. “O lord!” he said. “Why are you so angry with your own people whom you brought from the land of Egypt with such great power and such a strong hand?

Moses told them, “This is what the lord, the God of Israel, says: Each of you, take your swords and go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other. Kill everyone—even your brothers, friends, and neighbors.” 28The Levites obeyed Moses’ command, and about 3,000 people died that day.

Wow, this is a hard one to read. The Lord ask so little of his people. As soon as authority is out of sight for a short time sin becomes most important. We must submit to God to remain pure and blessed in a life abundant, left to our own authority we are completely foul. This is why I strive to spend time each day with the Lord, yet I still fall so short. We must slaughter evil completely or it will overtake our soul and cause our actions to be wrong.

Lord God,
Help me to identify the areas I am still holding on to and ruling over and surrender them to you. May I submit totally to your authority in ALL areas of my flesh and spirit.
In Jesus Holy Name,
Amen

God has plans for the finest details.

Accept the contributions from all whose hearts are moved to offer them.

Plans for the Tabernacle
Plans for the Altar of Burnt Offering
Plans for the Courtyard
Light for the Tabernacle

God only wants gifts from those who’s hearts are moved to give. We choose to love and honor him.

The detail for how God wanted these things built is amazing. It’s interesting seeing how God has detailed plans all thru the Bible for how we should live. His plans better than my plans yet I struggle to surrender to Him.

Lord God, Help me to get over myself and get into your plan for my life today.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

Oh how we promise.

“We will do everything the lord has commanded. We will obey.”

Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

We make promises in the Lords presence, How hard is it to keep them at all times.

Lord God,
Help me to promise what I can keep with your power in my life. Keep me ever mindful of your presence in my life.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Am I willing to complain to God directly?

because he has heard your complaints, which are against him, not against us.

Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed.

Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath day set apart for the lord.

Some of the people went out anyway on the seventh day, but they found no food. 28The lord asked Moses, “How long will these people refuse to obey my commands and instructions?

The people continued to blame Moses on their situation when it was God that was guiding them to find his awesome glory.

Do I complain to God when he gives me challenges to make me stronger or to show his glory, or do I find an excuse to blame them on. If God is working on me I need to accept the opportunity and go to Him for guidance, not try to do it my way.

Lord God, help me surrender my thoughts to you and listen for your solution for today’s challenges.

In Jusus name,
Amen

God has a plan, why do I wing it alone.

I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army.

Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt?

The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14The lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

Then the lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!

“Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The lord is fighting for them against Egypt!”

Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived.

God has a plan, if we follow his plan then his glory will be released in our lives. God will deal with the enemy fighting us within and outward if we will stick with his plan. He will totally destroy the enemy now if we totally trust in him now and move forward. If I take my eyes off the Lord for an instant, Satan will win the moment in my life and sin is close behind.

Lord God, give me the presence of mind to stay connected with you at all times and protect me from the poor decisions of my past and present.
In Jesus name.

Pharaoh and I, are we so different?

But I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn so I can multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

But again the magicians of Egypt used their magic, and they, too, turned water into blood.

Some of Pharaoh’s officials were afraid because of what the lord had said.
But those who paid no attention to the word of the lord left theirs out in the open.

Pharaoh again became stubborn.

How many plagues do I have to suffer to be broken for the lord.

Lord God, Soften my heart release me from my own stubbornness so I may live in your awesome glory.

How I relate to Moses

But I will harden his heart so he will refuse to let the people go.

“You’re just lazy! Lazy! That’s why you’re saying, ‘Let us go and offer sacrifices to the lord.’

So Moses told the people of Israel what the lord had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery.

“I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?”

Excuses, Moses had so many fears and excuses. I relate to that, I have excuses that hold me back from a life abundant.

Lord God, May your strength and power overwhelm my weakness. May I walk, and act in your desire not my limited way.

Do I hear when the Lord calls,,,

God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
“Here I am!” Moses replied.

Ok, so I know I haven’t seen a burning bush or anything but I also know the Lord has called me. I want to answer his call but so often some excuse keeps me from saying “here I am”.

Talk about a regret.

Lord God, help me to trust in you and your power within me to overcome any excuse I may come up with that keeps me from trusting you.
