And I am here to tell you that you and your family are the focus of all Israel’s hopes.”
21Saul replied, “But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?”

As for me, I will certainly not sin against the lord by ending my prayers for you.

Lord God,
Help me to grow in my belief of my self and the power you have put in me to serve you with courage. Give me a new heart and discernment in this world to see your will. Protect me from the idols satan puts in my path that I may look at and protect my soul. Give me a true servants heart so I may serve you completely. Give me power in my prayers to release your truth to this world so we may find your peace in our hearts.

Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel, “If you want to return to the lord with all your hearts, get rid of your foreign gods and your images of Ashtoreth. Turn your hearts to the lord and obey him alone; then he will rescue you from the Philistines.” 4

But the people refused to listen to Samuel’s warning. “Even so, we still want a king,” they said. 20“We want to be like the nations around us.

Lord God,
Help us to return to your authority, open the hearts of your people and humble the hearts of those who worship other gods. Remove the sinful nature from your people and show us the Joy we can have by living under your care.

Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad.

because his sons are blaspheming God As in Greek version; Hebrew reads his sons have made themselves contemptible. and he hasn’t disciplined them.

Lord God,
Help me to take your discipline and commit my heart to you wholeheartedly. Help my faith in areas where I struggle to overcome the struggles of this world and live a life pleasing to you.

Lord God my Father,
May I have the heart of Ruth, to love an honor my family and you wholeheartedly.

In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.

Lord God,
Open my eyes to your truth, allow my eyes to see what you see free of deceit from this world. May I do your will this day and bring you pleasure.

In Jesus name,

She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it.

Lord God, Protect me from any sin that nags me and separates me from your will.

In Jesus name,
Amen

But you disobeyed my command. Why did you do this? 3So now I declare that I will no longer drive out the people living in your land. They will be thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a constant temptation to you.”

Lord God,
I want to obey you but I have lived with compromise so long I don’t know how to surrender it to your care and defeat it. Lord God, give me power to forever defeat the ways in me that separate me from your presence.

In Jesus name,

But do not rebel against the lord or against us by building an altar other than the one true altar of the lord our God.

“So fear the lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the lord alone.

Lord God,
Reveal the idols I put before you in my life. Purify my heart so I may serve you completely. Lord God put your desire on my heart before my own and protect my eyes from looking off your path before me. May I serve and delight you only.

In Jesus name,

And the lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the lord helped them conquer all their enemies.

Lord God,
May I have the courage and faith to do your will and defeat the forces in my life that keep me from walking completely with you so I may have your rest in my life.

For my part, I wholeheartedly followed the lord my God.

Lord God,
May I have a heart for you that will one day allow me to say I wholeheartedly follow you. Lord God, I am unable to do this on my own, I need you for my courage and strength.
