Who’s life do I live?

If the Lord has told him to curse me, who are you to stop him?”

The king was overcome with emotion. He went up to the room over the gateway and burst into tears. And as he went, he cried, “O my son Absalom!

Lord God,
May I have a heart that follows you completely. May I show your grace to the world around me and to my own family. May I be an example of your grace and patience, may I be slow to anger.
In Jesus name,
Amen

To shine with His light

Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent.

Turn and answer me, O Lord my God!
Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.

Lord God,
You are my strength and power, Don’t allow me to get in your way in my life. Keep me from my desires and sin’s. May I have your patience, I have none of my own. May your grace shine thru me.
In Jesus name,
Amen

No compromise

But Amnon wouldn’t listen to her, and since he was stronger than she was, he raped her. 15Then suddenly Amnon’s love turned to hate, and he hated her even more than he had loved her.

But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.

Yes, Joab sent me and told me what to say. 20He did it to place the matter before you in a different light.

If the Lord sees fit,” David said, “he will bring me back to see the Ark and the Tabernacle15:25 Hebrew and his dwelling place. again. 26But if he is through with me, then let him do what seems best to him.”

Lord God,
Place on my spirit your discernment, fill me with your wisdom and desires. Take from me my sinful nature and give me strength to do your will. Be close and relentless in leading me, keep me on your path. May I surrender all I am to your purpose, may I do what brings you glory this day.
In Jesus name,
Amen

To live for the Lord, in all things.

11Uriah replied, “The Ark and the armies of Israel and Judah are living in tents,11:11 Or at Succoth. and Joab and my master’s men are camping in the open fields. How could I go home to wine and dine and sleep with my wife? I swear that I would never do such a thing.”

But the Lord was displeased with what David had done.

you have despised me by taking Uriah’s wife to be your own.

Lord God,
May I have the faith of Uriah, and put your task above my will and not have compromise in my actions. May I devote my life and will to your purpose and not displease you with my actions this day. May I be content with what you have given me and care for your gifts you have trusted me with all for your glory.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Forever faithful

Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,
you forgive them all.
4What joy for those you choose to bring near,
those who live in your holy courts.

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
19But God did listen!

But as for me, I am poor and needy;
please hurry to my aid, O God.
You are my helper and my savior;
O Lord, do not delay.

Lord God,
You are gracious and glorious, Even while I am a sinner your forgiveness is constant. Lord God keep me in your presence, point out the sin in my heart so I may confess it to your care. Save me from my fallen desires.

In Jesus name,
Amen

The purpose I was created for.

But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me.
If you keep to my path,
I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”

You have been angry with us; now restore us to your favor.

Oh, please help us against our enemies,
for all human help is useless.
12With God’s help we will do mighty things,
for he will trample down our foes.

Lord God, Be with me and give me strength to stay on your path, restore me to purpose you had for me when you created me. Help me against my own thoughts and desires that are not of you. With you I will do amazing things and your enemies will not have power in this place.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Do I honor God in my daily walk?

In fact, the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.

The king then asked him, “Is anyone still alive from Saul’s family? If so, I want to show God’s kindness to them.”

Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed, “Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?”

Lord God,
May I show you respect above everything in my life, may I live with you as the single most important relationship in my life. Grant me the power over the distractions in my life that separate me from your presence. Lord God, may I be victorious in your task and bring you all the glory.

In Jesus name,
Amen

His reputation

11For the honor of your name, O Lord,
forgive my many, many sins.
12Who are those who fear the Lord?
He will show them the path they should choose.
13They will live in prosperity,

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?
My only hope is in you.
8Rescue me from my rebellion.

Lord God,
may I represent you well to this world, protect your reputation by keeping me filled with your truth. It is all for you, may your glory sine thru the desires you place on my heart.

In Jesus name,
Amen

to Take His dicipline with Grace and praise.

Nathan replied to the king, “Go ahead and do whatever you have in mind, for the Lord is with you.”

I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do.

Lord God, my Father
Do with me as you please, direct my path and correct me when I stray. Lord God, may I have a heart like David, ever so grateful for all your blessings and may I give you all glory and not keep any for myself, for all comes from you and your way is truth to my spirit.

I Jesus name,
Amen
