May the Lord your God be a faithful witness against us if we refuse to obey whatever he tells us to do! 6Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we are sending you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us.”

For you were not being honest when you sent me to pray to the Lord your God for you. You said, ‘Just tell us what the Lord our God says, and we will do it!’ 21And today I have told you exactly what he said, but you will not obey the Lord your God any better now than you have in the past. 22So you can be sure that you will die from war, famine, and disease in Egypt, where you insist on going.”

Lord God my Father,
I can’t do this on my own, I can only live for you with you in control of my life. I pray my sinful nature, a nature to resist doing your will, to be removed and a spirit of action will settle on me. May I be honest with my thoughts and actions and resist my tendency to be stubborn in my way and surrender to your way.

In Jesus name I pray,

Jeremiah replied, “You won’t be handed over to them if you choose to obey the Lord. Your life will be spared, and all will go well for you.

Lord God my Father,
Soften my heart to surrender to your choice even when it seems hard from my perspective. Your way leads victory, mine leads to bondage.

In Jesus name I pray,

Time after time I sent you prophets, who told you, “Turn from your wicked ways, and start doing things right. Stop worshiping other gods so that you might live in peace here in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.”

So Jeremiah took another scroll and dictated again to his secretary, Baruch. He wrote everything that had been on the scroll King Jehoiakim had burned in the fire. Only this time he added much more!

Lord God my Father,
Open my eyes so I may see your desire, open my heart so I may hear your direction. Use your power living in me to cause me to turn away from my sinful ways, may I only follow you. I am unable to turn from my sinful desires without you, save me before it is made worse by my defiance.

What an incredible evil, causing Judah to sin so greatly!

I will put a desire in their hearts to worship me, and they will never leave me. 41I will find joy doing good for them and will faithfully and wholeheartedly replant them in this land.

Lord God my Father,
Open my eyes to your absolute truth, place in me your desire of worshiping you. Use my life for your purpose.
In Jesus name I pray,

You will be my people,
and I will be your God.”

Lord God my Father,
I am yours but I struggle in my surrender to your way. I am selfish and greedy, remove this, give me your power to overcome my ways, may I be your servant.

In Jesus name I pray,

In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Lord God my Father,
I still struggle with my desires over your desire for me. Make my heart pure in your way and give me power over my sinful nature. Make my heart only long for you.

In Jesus name,

And to those who stubbornly follow their own desires,
they say, ‘No harm will come your way!’

“Therefore,” says the Lord, “I am against these prophets who steal messages from each other and claim they are from me. 31I am against these smooth-tongued prophets who say, ‘This prophecy is from the Lord!’

Lord God my Father,
Soften my stubborn, selfish way and mold me into your child, your desire for me. Give me power and discernment to pursue your truth in this world filled with lies. Allow your truth to rest in me.

In Jesus name I pray,

If I announce that a certain nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, 8but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned. 9And if I announce that I will plant and build up a certain nation or kingdom, 10but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless it as I said I would.

He gave justice and help to the poor and needy,
and everything went well for him.
Isn’t that what it means to know me?”
says the Lord.

Lord God my Father,
You are in control, you are in charge, why do I struggle with you. Lord help me to only follow you, bless my thoughts and actions so I may bring you glory. May I bless those around me with your truth, open the hearts of your people.

No, you are the one, O Lord our God!
Only you can do such things.
So we will wait for you to help us.

But I, the Lord, search all hearts
and examine secret motives.
I give all people their due rewards,
according to what their actions deserve.

Lord God my Father,
I give my thoughts and actions to you this day, I pray your will be done and your glory shine. So often I worship you but rely on my way to live, may I turn over all to you this day. Watch me and direct me in my thoughts, keep me in your will. On my own I always fail, make this day ridiculous for your glory.

In Jesus name I pray,

O Lord of Heaven’s Armies,
you make righteous judgments,
and you examine the deepest thoughts and secrets.
Let me see your vengeance against them,
for I have committed my cause to you.

Lord God,
Examine me and remove the thoughts that separate me from you.
