He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
Lord God my Father,
All that I have came from you and is yours. Give the ability to bring you glory with it to me so your work can be done.

The Lord has done this to you today because you refused to carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites.
David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
Then David asked the Lord,
You rescue the humble,but you humiliate the proud.
God arms me with strength,and he makes my way perfect.
Lord God my Father,
May I be loyal to you and do your work this day. Remove my stubborn rebellion and create in me a servant’s attitude that follows you completely. I want to do your will, not my flawed desire.

By your mighty power you rescuethose who seek refuge from their enemies.
Lord God my Father,
Only in you can I live in truth. Lord, reveal my sin and make me whole in my actions. May they only honor you. Remove my doubt in your power.

“What is more pleasing to the Lord:your burnt offerings and sacrificesor your obedience to his voice?Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.23Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft,and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols.
The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on.
Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?”
“I can’t go in these,” he protested to Saul. “I’m not used to them.”
Lord God my Father
Give me a faith that only sees your ability, I am weak and confused and need your direction. Give me power over my own doubt and allow me to build a life that fully honors you.

Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle
“You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
“Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!”
Lord God my Father,
Help me to understand obedience and give me power to follow it. I have learned other ways, restore me to your path and give me your excitement to follow you. Nothing is beyond your power, even my own past.

And I am here to tell you that you and your family are the focus of all Israel’s hopes.”
As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart,
But there were some scoundrels who complained,
“You have certainly done wrong, but make sure now that you worship the Lord with all your heart, and don’t turn your back on him.
Lord God my Father,
I ask for your power to guide me and do wonderful things to heal my family and bring you Glory. I ask you to protect me from being grumpy against you and confess I have done wrong and wish to not turn away from you any more.

We will all be destroyed along with Dagon, our god.
He pleaded with the Lord to help Israel, and the Lord answered him.
But the people refused to listen to Samuel’s warning. “Even so, we still want a king,” they said. 20“We want to be like the nations around us. Our king will judge us and lead us into battle.”
Lord God my Father,
Help me identify areas in my life that rule over me and are not honoring you. Give me power over my weakness and turn me into your slave so I may only do your will,
