“No!” the king said. “Who asked your opinion, you sons of Zeruiah! If the Lord has told him to curse me, who are you to stop him?”

 Leave him alone and let him curse, for the Lord has told him to do it. 12And perhaps the Lord will see that I am being wronged16:12 As in Greek and Syriac versions; Hebrew reads see my iniquity. and will bless me because of these curses today.” 

“If you think that’s the best plan, I’ll do it,” the king answered. 

“O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you! O Absalom, my son, my son.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to understand your plan without interfering with my thoughts, I wish to submit to all your desire for me without wondering from your plan. May I only listen to your counsel and love as you do without compromise.

Offer sacrifices in the right spirit,and trust the Lord.

Give your burdens to the Lord,and he will take care of you.He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Lord God my Father,

Make my heart clean from my past so I can join you now in the moment with a clean, joyful heart. Help me to see the burdens you wish to carry for me.

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart that only hears you. I only want to do your will.

Oh, what joy for thosewhose disobedience is forgiven,whose sin is put out of sight!2Yes, what joy for thosewhose record the Lord has cleared of guilt,32:2 Greek version reads of sin. Compare Rom 4:8.whose lives are lived in complete honesty!3When I refused to confess my sin,my body wasted away,and I groaned all day long.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,and make me willing to obey you.13Then I will teach your ways to rebels,and they will return to you.

Lord God my Father,

Thank your for your patience, waiting for me to desire you more than my rebellion. Thank you for forgiving my past poor decisions. Help me to live in this new truth, your truth. Restore me to your desire.

Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord

David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me in your grace and protect me from my own decisions. I have proven to myself my thoughts on my own lead to trouble. I wish to live in your power and desire. May all I do this day bring you honor.

Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,you forgive them all.4What joy for those you choose to bring near,those who live in your holy courts.What festivities await usinside your holy Temple.

Lord God my father,

Help me to understand how much you love me and bring me closer to your desire for me. Separate me from my past so I may be at peace with you in the now.

May I be thankful in all I do for I do it for you. Protect and guide my thoughts so my actions will bring you glory.

 In fact, the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.

So David reigned over all Israel and did what was just and right for all his people.

Lord God my Father,

May I be humble in your service. I am weak on my own and need your guidance and power to overcome my flawed way. Lord I wish to be your servant today.

So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy,his chosen ones with rejoicing.44He gave his people the lands of pagan nations,and they harvested crops that others had planted.45All this happened so they would follow his decreesand obey his instructions.Praise the Lord!

If your descendants obey the terms of my covenantand the laws that I teach them,then your royal linewill continue forever and ever.”

Lord God my Father,

May I enter all the challenges of this day with your Joy in my heart, trusting your path and not struggling to control you or have my way. I only wish to reap your crops this day and plant the seeds you provide for the future.
