“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!”
he Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!”

Lord God my Father,
Give me your courage, your strength to deal with this world. Help me to surrender my desire to control and allow you to bring peace to my ciaos of confusion. Give my faith power over my desire to control and make known to me what you want from me. Give me confidence that you are in control and your plan is greater than any dream I may have.

But she said, “It will be all right.”

“I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!

Lord God my Father,
May I have faith based on trust that you are who you say you are. Remove any doubt but when it appears give me your truth to remove it. May I trust in your love for my family and I. Remove my expectations for your will and accept your will without question.

“Yes,” Elijah answered, “I have come because you have sold yourself to what is evil in the Lord’s sight.

(No one else so completely sold himself to what was evil in the Lord’s sight as Ahab did under the influence of his wife Jezebel. 26His worst outrage was worshiping idols

Lord God my Father,
Reshape me from my current ways and restore me to your original desire for me. May I open my grip on my stubborn ways and surrender my past to you. May I move forward under your authority doing your will. May I accept your influence passed threw those around without resentment.

“You and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the Lord and have worshiped the images of Baal instead.

I will defeat this vast army for you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

Lord God my Father,
Make me pure, purify my thoughts and give me peace in them. May I follow your command and act on your desires immediately, without hesitation for when I pause in action I question your desire. Bring your obedience on me so my family will know your power, defeat the sin I have place on your servant.

This was done because Jeroboam had provoked the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, by the sins he had committed and the sins he had led Israel to commit.

And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”

Lord God my Father,
Protect and lead me away from the idols in my life, humble and protect me from provoking your anger, may I please you in all things and follow your will for my life and lead those around me to follow you. Even in the deepest struggle may I delight in your presence and do what I must to pass your blessings to your people. Use me and remove my rebellious nature, a nature I placed in your servant.

Then while they were sitting at the table, a command from the Lord came to the old prophet. 21He cried out to the man of God from Judah, “This is what the Lord says: You have defied the word of the Lord and have disobeyed the command the Lord your God gave you. 22You came back to this place and ate and drank where he told you not to eat or drink. Because of this, your body will not be buried in the grave of your ancestors.”

The people imitated the detestable practices of the pagan nations the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

Lord God my father,
Protect me from the deceit of this world and of my sinful nature. Help me to live in your Truth, not listening to the lies that are so much around me.

In Jesus name,

Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. 3He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the Lord.

If you listen to what I tell you and follow my ways and do whatever I consider to be right, and if you obey my decrees and commands, as my servant David did, then I will always be with you.

Lord God my Father,
Harden my heart to the distractions of this world, Give me strength in your word to only follow you. Protect me from my adversary’s and give me your power to defeat the lost ways from my past. Give me a heart that longs for your truth above all else so I may follow your desire for me.

In Jesus name I pray,

You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion.

“As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness,

Lord God my Father,
Clear my heart of distractions, give me a heart that only longs after you. Hear my prayers Lord God and answer the cries of my heart for your people. Give me a heart that is strong and full of integrity.

Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, except that Solomon, too, offered sacrifices and burned incense at the local places of worship.

Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong.

Lord God my Father,
Grant me the wisdom to pursue your wisdom. May I lead my family fairly and care for all you have trusted me with under your authority to be used for your glory.

The sentence is fair; I will do as you say.’ 43Then why haven’t you kept your oath to the Lord and obeyed my command?”

Lord God my Father,
May I be obedient to you especially when I don’t understand why. May I trust you above my own understanding.
