The coming destruction can never touch us,
for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.”

“Only in returning to me
and resting in me will you be saved.
In quietness and confidence is your strength.

Lord God my Father,
I beg of you to remove my arrogance, protect me from pride, may I hear your voice over the noise around me. I pray for your wisdom and wish to live your will. Remove the rebellion and bring me in under your authority. I wondered far in my youth and wish to rest in your power and peace. Take the battles from me and bring your peace to my life.

For only when you come to judge the earth
will people learn what is right.
10Your kindness to the wicked
does not make them do good.
Although others do right, the wicked keep doing wrong
and take no notice of the Lord’s majesty.

But those who die in the Lord will live;
their bodies will rise again!
Those who sleep in the earth
will rise up and sing for joy!

Lord God my Father,
I pray for your judgment to come to this nation, that you would expose evil for what it is and open the eyes of your people to it. I pray that your blessings will expose your truth. Use me to your will to be a light to those living in darkness.

The Lord has sent a spirit of foolishness on them,
so all their suggestions are wrong.

But the Lord of Heaven’s Armies also says: “The time will come when I will pull out the nail that seemed so firm. It will come out and fall to the ground. Everything it supports will fall with it. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Lord God my Father,
Protect me from foolishness, keep my securely in your will. I place my trust in you, help me with my doubts. I surrender to your way even when I don’t understand.

“It will all happen as I have planned.
It will be as I have decided.

Lord God my Father,
Help me to submit to your plan and stop trying to do things my way. I have no power on my own so why to I try. I surrender to live your plan, trusting your way is better than mine.

a light will shine.

And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3He will delight in obeying the Lord.
He will not judge by appearance
nor make a decision based on hearsay.

Lord God my Father,
Use me to bring light into the darkness around me and bring your wisdom to my life. Help me to be a witness to your Glory and bring hope to this world. Use me as you see fit.

He expected a crop of justice,
but instead he found oppression.
He expected to find righteousness,
but instead he heard cries of violence.

Unless your faith is firm,
I cannot make you stand firm.”

Lord God my Father,
I pray for my expectations to be in line with or replaced with your expectations, keep me from my lost ways and false comfort. I am ignorant of your way and need your guidance. Your Glory is what I live for, may all I do and think bring you glory. Use me for your purpose and create a clear path for me and close my eyes to my past desires. Make my faith solid and unshakable.

For Jerusalem will stumble,
and Judah will fall,
because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him.
They provoke him to his face.

Lord God my father,
I lift up our nation and all the people. I pray Lord God for your Truth to pass thru your people, may we unite under your authority to do your work in this world.

Then the king defiled the altar of Topheth in the valley of Ben-Hinnom, so no one could ever again use it to sacrifice a son or daughter in the fire

Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength,

Lord God my Father,
Be with me this day and use me to destroy the false gods of this world around me and bring your truth to the surface. May I have your discernment in my actions and words today, may I please you above all situations that may come before me.

He removed the pagan shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke up the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because the people of Israel had been offering sacrifices to it. The bronze serpent was called Nehushtan.

For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David,
I will defend this city and protect it.”

Lord God my Father,
Again I ask you to remove the false gods from my presence. Help me to focus my whole being on you and give me discernment to recognize false gods in my path. Keep my heart pure in worship at all times even in the struggles for you are with me and your path is best. Give me your leadership in my family.

He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, just as his father, Amaziah, had done. 4But he did not destroy the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there.

Do not forget the covenant I made with you, and do not worship other gods. 39You must worship only the Lord your God. He is the one who will rescue you from all your enemies.”

Lord God my Father,
May I do what is pleasing in your eyes and surrender the idols I have placed in your temple. Lord God, give me power over the strongholds in my life that separate me from your design for me. It seems to be a struggle from the beginning to worship you but allow idols to get our attention so protect me from my sinful desires and remove the idols from my life. May I surrender all to you and trust you have control over the battles in my life.
