So the Lord made David victorious wherever he went.
With God’s help we will do mighty things,for he will trample down our foes.

Then David summoned all Israel to Jerusalem to bring the Ark of the Lord to the place he had prepared for it.

So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?”

13But after a while the Philistines returned and raided the valley again. 14And once again David asked God what to do.
So David did what God commanded, and they struck down the Philistine army all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord of Heaven’s Armies was with him.

Help me to put you first in all my decisions, Help me to place you as my first thought always.

No!” David said. “Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the Lord’s anointed one? 10Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle. 11The Lord forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed! But take his spear and that jug of water beside his head, and then let’s get out of here!”
The Lord has done this to you today because you refused to carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites.
So now I can walk in your presence, O God,in your life-giving light.

Guide my heart to do your will, keep me from having my way above your desire.

Saul hunted him day after day, but God didn’t let Saul find him.
She bowed low to the ground and responded, “I, your servant, would be happy to marry David. I would even be willing to become a slave, washing the feet of his servants!”

Come upon me in your powerful way and restore me to your desire for me. Protect me from distraction and may I bring you glory this day.
