Heart for His Truth

So Israel was reduced to starvation by the Midianites. Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord for help.

The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

Early the next morning, as the people of the town began to stir, someone discovered that the altar of Baal had been broken down and that the Asherah pole beside it had been cut down. In their place a new altar had been built, and on it were the remains of the bull that had been sacrificed. 29The people said to each other, “Who did this?” And after asking around and making a careful search, they learned that it was Gideon, the son of Joash.30“Bring out your son,” the men of the town demanded of Joash. “He must die for destroying the altar of Baal and for cutting down the Asherah pole.”31But Joash shouted to the mob that confronted him, “Why are you defending Baal? Will you argue his case? Whoever pleads his case will be put to death by morning! If Baal truly is a god, let him defend himself and destroy the one who broke down his altar!” 32From then on Gideon was called Jerub-baal, which means “Let Baal defend himself,” because he broke down Baal’s altar.

Then the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon with power.

Lord God my Father,

Deliver me from the oppression of the deceiver, and give me power over my sin nature. Make me bold in your task, obedient to you only. Clothe me in your power.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Power of Truth

But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help, the Lord again raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Ehud son of Gera, a left-handed man of the tribe of Benjamin.

Lord God my Father,
Give me wisdom to see your Truth in this world and protect me from deceit.
In Jesus name I pray,

Hebron still belongs to the descendants of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite because he wholeheartedly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.

His day, His way

O Lord, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!”

Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

“The Lord has given us the whole land,” they said, “for all the people in the land are terrified of us.”

Lord God my Father,

Unite my thoughts under your authority, keep me strong and in your command, weaken your enemy so I may fight your battle as you desire me to.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

it was simply that the Lord loves you,

But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the land of Egypt.

“Be careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today.

Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.

“But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees

Lord God my Father,

I don’t understand your Love but I wish to, Help me to obey only you and place my desire in your care. Guide me to your way and freedom from me.

“Look, I now teach you these decrees and regulations just as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy. 6Obey them completely, and you will display your wisdom and intelligence among the surrounding nations. When they hear all these decrees, they will exclaim, ‘How wise and prudent are the people of this great nation!’ 7For what great nation has a god as near to them as the Lord our God is near to us whenever we call on him? 8And what great nation has decrees and regulations as righteous and fair as this body of instructions that I am giving you today?

Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me under your obedience and cause my heart to obey your commands wholeheartedly.

His plan, His courage.

But you all came to me and said, ‘First, let’s send out scouts to explore the land for us. They will advise us on the best route to take and which towns we should enter.’

except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see this land because he has followed the Lord completely.

“This is what I told you, but you would not listen. Instead, you again rebelled against the Lord’s command and arrogantly went into the hill country to fight.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to not question your plan and be courageous and obedient to your calling. Protect me from doubt and distraction.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
