and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! 37The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!”

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword.

But on the way to Naioth in Ramah the Spirit of God came even upon Saul, 

Lord God my Father,

Keep me focused on your way to the point I trust you to fight my battles with your outcome expected, help me to trust in Heaven’s armies having my back and that truth brings all glory to you. Overwhelm my enemy with your spirit.

In Jesus name I pray,

“I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been loyal to me and has refused to obey my command.” 

“It’s true that the army spared the best of the sheep, goats, and cattle,” Saul admitted. “But they are going to sacrifice them to the Lord your God. We have destroyed everything else.”16Then Samuel said to Saul, “Stop! 

So Samuel did as the Lord instructed.

The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. 

And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. 

Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me in your protection so you don’t regret my direction. Keep me in your power so I may not stray, I wish to be obedient to you over my own desire.

Saul realized that his troops were rapidly slipping away. 9So he demanded, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings!” And Saul sacrificed the burnt offering himself.

Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle.

“How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. 

 “Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!”7“Do what you think is best,” the armor bearer replied. “I’m with you completely, whatever you decide.”

Suddenly, panic broke out in the Philistine army, both in the camp and in the field, including even the outposts and raiding parties. And just then an earthquake struck, and everyone was terrified.

Then Saul and all his men rushed out to the battle and found the Philistines killing each other. There was terrible confusion everywhere. 

Lord God my Father,]

Help me to keep you as the priority in my actions, defeat my enemy and allow me to stay focused on your glory and not on my struggles.

He is against us! We will all be destroyed along with Dagon, our god.

Don’t be stubborn and rebellious as Pharaoh and the Egyptians were. By the time God was finished with them, they were eager to let Israel go.

Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually abandoned me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment. 9Do as they ask, but solemnly warn them about the way a king will reign over them.”

He pleaded with the Lord to help Israel, and the Lord answered him.

Lord God my Father,

Remove any essence of a foreign god in me to I may worship you only, soften my stubborn heart and make me stubborn only for you, may your Glory be everything to me.

 “Stay here for now, and may the Lord help you keep your promise.

For all the earth is the Lord’s,and he has set the world in order.9“He will protect his faithful ones,but the wicked will disappear in darkness.No one will succeed by strength alone.

Then the Lord called out again, “Samuel!”

And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

I have warned him that judgment is coming upon his family forever, because his sons are blaspheming God3:13 As in Greek version; Hebrew reads his sons have made themselves contemptible. and he hasn’t disciplined them. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep my thoughts pure and focused on you only, remove my tendency to look away. Help me to be quiet so my spirit will only respond to you so my all may honor you.

Then the women of the town said to Naomi, “Praise the Lord, who has now provided a redeemer for your family! May this child be famous in Israel. 

For he is the son of your daughter-in-law who loves you and has been better to you than seven sons!”

“Why are you crying, Hannah?” Elkanah would ask. “Why aren’t you eating? Why be downhearted just because you have no children? You have me—isn’t that better than having ten sons?”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to see past my understanding to accept your blessing in all things. Help me to carry your peace and to delight in your plan when I don’t understand it.

In Jesus name I pray,

And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz, the relative of her father-in-law, Elimelech.

Ruth fell at his feet and thanked him warmly. “What have I done to deserve such kindness?” she asked. “I am only a foreigner.”11“Yes, I know,” Boaz replied. “But I also know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. 

“I will do everything you say,” Ruth replied.

for everyone in town knows you are a virtuous woman.

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart like Ruth, May my love and obedience for you shape me into your desire for me. May I follow your plan without delay.

In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.

Lord God my Father,

May my desire be with you, so everything I desire is under your authority,

Then Delilah pouted, “How can you tell me, ‘I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!” 16She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it.

“I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.

Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. 

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from the nagging way of evil and keep me in your Peace, be with me and use me to do your will from under your protection.

In Jesus name I pray,

But his wife said, “If the Lord were going to kill us, he wouldn’t have accepted our burnt offering and grain offering. He wouldn’t have appeared to us and told us this wonderful thing and done these miracles.”

At last, on the seventh day he told her the answer because she was tormenting him with her nagging.

Lord God my Father,

Give me your wisdom to understand as you wish me to and no more, Bring your peace on me to keep me aware of your desire without my interpretation.
