“If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord will be my God 22and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Lord God my Father,

You are protector and provider and your way is good. Be with me and guide me in my thoughts and actions. Give me strength to stay on your path without straying. In my weakness, make me strong, help me stay focused on your blessings and not on the struggles. May all my actions be pleasing to you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well.

Lord God my Father,

Your are all powerful and all knowing. Give me a faith that trust you in all ways and protect me from having any doubt of your ability to overcome all things. Keep me close but protect my thoughts so they stay focused on you and not on my nature. Allow your greatness to be seen and followed in all things.

He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. 22But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.”

But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Abraham replied, “I said to myself, ‘There is surely no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ 12Besides, she really is my sister, the daughter of my father though not of my mother; and she became my wife. 

But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned. 13I will make the son of the slave into a nation also, because he is your offspring.”

Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

At that time Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces said to Abraham, “God is with you in everything you do. 

Lord God my Father,

Your way is perfect, in my opinion I stray from your way. Lord God, grant me your Peace in such a powerful way that your way is more important to me than my understanding. Help me to follow your direction perfectly so I may not destroy myself. Open my eyes so I can see your guidance and give me focus to follow you only. Be with me and bless my actions today, may they be pleasing to you.

“The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.”

“I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.

 “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14Is anything too hard for the Lord? 

Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from thinking for you and allow me to know your plan will be done without my doubt. Give me discernment to do your will with full delight in my heart, keep me motivated. Keep me from trying to understand how you will achieve your goal, just make me obedient.

 I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

There Abram called on the name of the Lord.

Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.

“Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. 14But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. 

Lord God my Father,

Your word is the only Truth that is. Help me to know it and call on you in all matters. Protect me from the wicked ways of my thoughts, keep me from sin. Help me to trust in your plan without question.

In Jesus name I pray,

“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

“Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?

You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.

 “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has. 

Lord God my Father,

I am nothing without your heart in me. Help me to gain your wisdom by becoming still enough to know you. Your way is perfect and I am made stronger in my struggles. Show me how to put your will first and keep my emotions in check so I don’t distort your way. Make me wise and show me when to reveal it and not before.

In Jesus name I pray,

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: 2“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? 3Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.

Who provides food for the raven when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?

Lord God my Father,

You are creator and sustainer of literally all things. As you make your way known to me, keep me humble. Help me to not own your wisdom but to allow it to rest on me. My way is arrogant and self serving, your way is perfect, without distraction or compromise. Any understanding I struggle for distorts your design.

In Jesus name I pray,

I get my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe justice to my Maker. 4Be assured that my words are not false; one who has perfect knowledge is with you.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from arrogance and keep me from thinking I am wise at all. Only by being still can I hear your wisdom, it is all from you. Keep me from being more important to me than to you.

Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay, 17what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver. 18The house he builds is like a moth’s cocoon, like a hut made by a watchman. 19He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone.

“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”

Lord God my Father,

You are provider and designer. Life happens on purpose, help me to allow your purpose for all my struggles to overwhelm my desire to understand. Help me to truly know you are God and in control to reveal your Glory in my surrender. Give me strength to not have an opinion above your design.

“So how can you console me with your nonsense? Nothing is left of your answers but falsehood!”

I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

13“But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? He does whatever he pleases.

Lord God my Father,

Surround me with Godly people that seek your wisdom and make me wise. Your way is Truth and Peace, yet struggle makes it’s way to me. Help me to process conflict so I may honor you and put your words in my mouth and your Peace in my heart.
