For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it,

Lord God my Father,

You are all knowing and all powerful. You know me better than I do. Help me to know the darkness that teases me and protect me from falling to it. Allow your delight to overwhelm all my desires and satisfy me so temptation has no hold on me. I want to live as you designed it, to enjoy your Peace.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 

Lord God my father,

Your way brings Peace and Strength. All Praise is to you. Renew me with your Spirit, restore me with your Peace. Protect me from Satan’s wit so his way is not known to me. Your Glory transforms and displays your way within me. The pressure of the world has no effect when your Peace is with me.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 

Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14Do everything in love.

Lord God my Father,

You are everything good that lives in me, without you, there is selfishness. Your Grace defines me and makes me worthy. Give me the opportunity to share you with others and strengthen my faith today. Allow your way to grow in me and my way to wither. Keep me from deceit so all focus is on your work. Help me to stand firm on your message and do all things in your love.

Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.

But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

Lord God my Father,

You are provider and sustainer, your will is perfect. Bring me close and reveal your way in me so I may move only in your permission. Reveal the fruits of your spirit and make them strong in my desire to remove my limitations of understanding. Help me to Love as you do without my selfish desires. Help my life to encourage others to seek your way so your delight overwhelms our attitudes. Bring order to the chaos of our thoughts.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

Lord God my Father

Your way is perfect. Help me to keep my focus on you so distractions of darkness don’t have access to me. Keep me focused on what I should do to keep growing in your direction.

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 

” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 

You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart in your Peace so I do not argue. Protect my spirit so I am not led into sin. I am yours and I want to honor you completely. Convict me in my sin and guide me into your plan.

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 

 Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness,

you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Lord God my Father,

You are my inspiration and life. Your knowledge is the only knowledge I wish to carry. Release from me the worldly way I followed so I may live in your spirit within me. Keep me from using my words so your words are freely spoken. Help me to awaken the spirit in others so they can know you as well.

“Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.10For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”

The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there. 

Lord God my Father,

Give me confidence that can not be shaken and words that make a difference. Protect me as I do your work and allow your grace to be in my words. Keep me from false idols but keep me in your Peace, keep confusion at bay and truth on my lips.

On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. 

For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? 20Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; 6and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Lord God my Father,

You are all knowing and still you trust me. Help me to carry you naturally and share your strength comfortably so you are noticed. Protect me from those who want to take your peace from me and share your hope and light so they join me in knowing you.

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. 12As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. 

Lord God my Father,

Your design brings life and Peace, help me to carry your Truth without trying to understand more than I am ready for. Help me to allow your word to rest on me well and restore me to your design. You are unlike anything I can understand so help me to allow your understanding to rest on me as you desire.

Help me to stay close to you and be noble in my way, serving you in all things.
