Jehu said, “Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord.” 

The Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in accomplishing what is right in my eyes and have done to the house of Ahab all I had in mind to do, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me a zeal that can not be quiet that honors you. Bless my actions so it is obvious that you are in control. Help me to serve you as you desire and bring your Glory to this day.

“I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.

“My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? 

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to appeal to the king for her house and land.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from wanting your plan to play out my way but make me obedient to your plan your way. Keep me from greed and selfish desires and help me to be in a constant state of moving forward with you. Open my eyes and heart to peacefully see your next step in my path and help me trust in your timing.

“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

10“You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.”

Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”

“Everything is all right,” she said.

As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. 35Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

Lord God my Father,

Show me how or prepare myself to carry your spirit and you desire. Make nothing impossible to my thoughts so your Glory may pass through me and touch others. Allow your abilities to become my abilities without my doubt blocking you. Help me to understand that everything is all right with your plan. Help me to believe.

In Jesus name I pray,

Act with courage, and may the Lord be with those who do well.”

 Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ ”

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. 30And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.

Lord God my father,

Give me the Peaceful Courage to do your will in all my actions. Allow your Peace to rest on my and overwhelm my fears. May Praise be my overwhelming emotion to give me abilities by your desire. Slay any obstacle in my path that does not worship you.

But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.”

But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor. 

“ ‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.

Lord God my Father,

Give me ears to only hear you and not any of the deceivers desires. Direct me and protect me from the evil that wants to join me and distract me.

The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.”

14But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.”

But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor.

Lord God my Father,

Keep me away from the dark crowd and keep me in your light. Develop in me a heart that longs for your Truth. Keep me from the random attacks that may find me.

In Jesus name I pray,

‘Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

Ahab said to Elijah, “So you have found me, my enemy!”

“I have found you,” he answered, “because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord. 

Lord God my Father,

Bring my heart to be with you and lead me into your desire so I may not disappoint you.

“Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’ ”

The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him,

 “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

“I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” 5Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep.

All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” 6He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me the faith that obeys without the need to understand. Allow your desire to rest on me and remove my fears and selfish desires. Cause my efforts for your kingdom to never dry up. Hear my cry and deliver me to your will. I am your servant, show yourself through me. Bring your power to me and cause your blessing to flow in me in ways I can’t imagine. Give me strength so I may not grow weary and give up. Be my nourishment and quench my thirst. Bring me close so I may know you.

The Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the ways of his father David before him. He did not consult the Baals 4but sought the God of his father and followed his commands rather than the practices of Israel. 

Lord God my Father,

Give me wisdom to follow your way above any compromise I may be tempted with. I seek only you and your plan. Give me strength and focus to do you will this day.

In Jesus name I pray,

For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord and had not failed to keep any of the Lord’s commands all the days of his life—except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.

 The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. 

All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

 Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians. 

Lord God my Father,

Thank you for your great mercy and grace. Help me to allow your heart to rest with me and remove the compromise I am comfortable with. Show me how to move out of my present and into your tomorrow. Surround me with like minded men and strengthen our faith and create a foundation that leads to you in all our actions and thoughts. Help us to seek you in all things.
