One path

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send e!” 9He said, “Go and tell this people:

Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Lord God my Father,

Give me discernment over good and evil and strength to follow you only. Let me go with you and share your hope. Help me to speak only your words.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.

The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.

Lord God my Father,

Cleanse my soul and use me to spark your revival. Open our hearts to your glory and shield us from the evil one.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One God

He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. 4The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.

5The Lord afflicted the king with leprosy

He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done. 35The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.

God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success.

But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the Lord his God,

Lord God my Father,

Help me to do your will, protect me from wondering to my desires, replace my desires with yours. Keep me from worshiping anything other than you and give me success this day.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

All in His way

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish.

But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.

The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. 8But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. 9Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”

10When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.

That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. 3Now, Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live.”

4But the Lord replied, “Is it right for you to be angry?”

But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to just follow your desire in my heart and do it without resistance. Keep me from putting my attitude on your plan but just follow you as you desire.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Focused

“Why do you consult this people’s gods, which could not save their own people from your hand?”

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from false idols, keep my eyes focused on you with such intent that I may not wonder.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One desire

They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.

Then Jehoahaz sought the Lord’s favor, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel. 5The Lord provided a deliverer

so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.

He was buried with the kings in the City of David, because of the good he had done in Israel for God and his temple.

‘Why do you disobey the Lord’s commands? You will not prosper. Because you have forsaken the Lord, he has forsaken you.’ ”

Lord God my Father,

Oh my Father, help me to be worthy in your eyes. Bring a Peace to me that restores me and inspires me. Direct my actions today so that I am pleasing in your eyes and inspiring to others to seek you. Help me to not put limits on my thoughts as to what I can do under your authority and to stay obedient to your desire. Quiet my desires so I can hear you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

One God

“How can there be peace,” Jehu replied, “as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel abound?”

Jehu said, “Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord.”

Lord God my Father,

Protect me from worshiping anything other than you and cause your fire and truth to burn within me and keep me on your task.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

As He desires.

“I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy.

Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!”

And that is exactly what happened to him,

Lord God my Father,

Keep me from wanting to see your plan the way I want to. Help me to surrender to do what you ask as you desire me to do it. Life will happen just as you say.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

All in

“If I am a man of God,” Elijah replied, “may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!” Then the fire of God fell from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.

And he replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them walked on.

“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

“No,” the king of Israel answered, “because it was the Lord who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab.”

You will overthrow every fortified city and every major town. You will cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.”

“Tell her, ‘You have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army?’ ”

Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.”

30But the child’s mother said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.

Lord God my Father,

You are my everything, help me to be still and obedient in you presence and do your work. Surround me with men who are hungry for you as I am and show us how to do your work well. Give us ability and courage and a heart that knows you well. Show me how to do your miracle and provide, give me a faith that can heal the heart and a belief that it can be done.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Delightfully fearful

“Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. 7Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

Lord God my Father,

You are my judge and I wish to please you. Keep me strong and focused on moving with you. Defeat your enemy that surrounds me and bring fear to the hearts of all who deny you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
