You must never have a foreign god; you must not bow down before a false god.
Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him; they would be doomed forever.
Lord God my Father,
Purify my heart and show me how to remove the gods I am tempted with. Only you are God and only you bring delight.

Your plan is perfect even when I am in struggle. Help me to allow your wisdom and strength to be on me so I may learn to trust you more.

O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? 14You are the God of great wonders!
Yet they kept on sinning against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert. 18They stubbornly tested God in their hearts, demanding the foods they craved. 19They even spoke against God himself, saying, “God can’t give us food in the wilderness.
He dispatched against them a band of destroying angels.
Lord God my Father,
Take me and shape me like David. Give me strength and courage to overcome my battles and surrender them to your care. Give me obedience to follow you without distraction and be restored to your design for me.

He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
Lord God my Father,
I too pray for your blessings to expand your territory in my family. Be with me in all things and allow relationships to grow. Keep me strong and protected.

You are my King and my God You command victories for Israel. 5Only by your power can we push back our enemies; only in your name can we trample our foes.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.
Lord God my Father,
You are everything that is good. Release your Truth in my heart and allow me to go in your Peace this day. Allow your way to flow from me and make your presence known. Give me strength to overwhelm any enemy which comes after me and place your anointing oil of Joy over me.

The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer. 10May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame.
The wicked will go down to the grave. This is the fate of all the nations who ignore God.
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
Lord God my Father,
Hear my cry and deliver me from my struggles. Clean my heart and make me new. Shield me from the evil from within and around me. Use me to reveal your glory and hope.

How I weep for you, my brother Jonathan! Oh, how much I loved you! And your love for me was deep, deeper than the love of women!
“God only knows what would have happened if you hadn’t spoken, for we would have chased you all night if necessary.” 28So Joab blew the ram’s horn, and his men stopped chasing the troops of Israel.
Now is the time! For the Lord has said, ‘I have chosen David to save my people Israel from the hands of the Philistines and from all their other enemies
This pleased the people very much. In fact, everything the king did pleased them!
Lord God my Father,
Help me to release your plan to play out as you designed it without changing it to my understanding. May I grow a love greater than anything I can understand so Your will is my guide. Use me as you will and allow me to please you in all areas of my life.

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt. 4We have had more than our fill of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.
O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. 5But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil.
How joyful are those who fear the Lord— all who follow his ways! 2You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!
Lord God my Father,
I am a sinner and I don’t know you. Forgive me for my nature and deliver me to your delightful table. Cause me to follow the delightful way you show me and turn my back on the darkness of my desire. Your freedom is perfect, without weakness.

“This is David, the servant of King Saul of Israel. He’s been with me for years, and I’ve never found a single fault in him from the day he arrived until today.”
And the Lord told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”
But some evil troublemakers among David’s men said, “They didn’t go with us, so they can’t have any of the plunder we recovered. Give them their wives and children, and tell them to be gone.”
23But David said, “No, my brothers! Don’t be selfish with what the Lord has given us.
I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
2The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety.
Lord God my Father,
Give me the integrity of David and help me to be your servant as you desire. Be on my side and fight my battles, keep me from questioning your plan and reward me by allowing me to carry your love so others will know you.

I am determined not to sin in what I say.
Guard me as you would guard your own eyes
O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you.
Lord God my Father,
I wish to only follow your perfect Truth. Protect my eyes so I don’t fall to temptation, guard me from the enemy. Keep my longing after you alone.
