Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the Lord heard everything they said. Then the Lord’s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp. 2Then the people screamed to Moses for help, and when he prayed to the Lord, the fire stopped.

“Why are you treating me, your servant, so harshly? Have mercy on me! What did I do to deserve the burden of all these people? 

You will eat it for a whole month until you gag and are sick of it. For you have rejected the Lord, who is here among you, and you have whined to him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

“The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. 33We even saw giants

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart peaceful in your Truth that you are in control, not me. Keep me from complaining when times get hard, you are still in control. Keep me from selfish desire and help me to let your desire to rest on me powerfully even in the unknown. Allow your strength to be my strength without doubt.

In Jesus name I pray,

Whenever the cloud lifted from over the sacred tent, the people of Israel would break camp and follow it. And wherever the cloud settled, the people of Israel would set up camp. 18In this way, they traveled and camped at the Lord’s command wherever he told them to go. 

And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” 36And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!”

Lord God my Father,

Show me the way you want me to move, help me to see your path. Fight for me and prepare the way that leads to your glory. Allow your peace to rest powerfully in my mind.

In Jesus name I pray,

‘May the Lord bless you and protect you. 25May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. 26May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’ 27Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to know how to receive your blessing and represent you well. I need your strength and peace to face the day and your strength to be mine.

In Jesus name I pray,

Moses and Aaron listed them, just as the Lord had commanded.

And so the registration was completed, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to be still so I may hear your desire above my own. Help me to know the task you put before me and keep me from distractions. Your task brings delight to me and gives me a peace I have always longed for.

Say to the people of Israel: Those who curse their God will be punished for their sin. 

You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

“But despite all this, I will not utterly reject or despise them while they are in exile in the land of their enemies. I will not cancel my covenant with them by wiping them out, for I am the Lord their God.

Lord God my Father,

You are creator of all things good, keep my heart close

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart pure and cause me to seek your way in how I live. I wish to be under your blessing more than my desire.

“Do not twist justice in legal matters by favoring the poor or being partial to the rich and powerful. Always judge people fairly.

Do not live according to the customs of the people I am driving out before you. It is because they do these shameful things that I detest them. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep my desires good, keep me from judging anyone, only you can judge. Keep me under your authority and cause my desire to honor you and not my sinful nature.

“You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to learn how to give you a day where you are my only desire. I live in a distracted state and have a hard time keeping my focus on your way. My way wants to win too often.

In Jesus name I pray,

He will lay both of his hands on the goat’s head and confess over it all the wickedness, rebellion, and sins of the people of Israel. In this way, he will transfer the people’s sins to the head of the goat. Then a man specially chosen for the task will drive the goat into the wilderness. 22As the goat goes into the wilderness, it will carry all the people’s sins upon itself into a desolate land.

If you obey my decrees and my regulations, you will find life through them. I am the Lord.

Because the entire land has become defiled, I am punishing the people who live there. I will cause the land to vomit them out. 26You must obey all my decrees and regulations. You must not commit any of these detestable sins. This applies both to native-born Israelites and to the foreigners living among you.

Lord God my Father,

My sin’s make me detestable to you, forgive me for my weakness to temptation and make me new under your authority. I want to only worship you on your terms and not try to get you to fit into my desires. Change me, restore me to your design and being life as you desire into my heart. May I represent you well today.

So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord had commanded through Moses.

In this way, they disobeyed the Lord by burning before him the wrong kind of fire, different than he had commanded. 

“Today my sons presented both their sin offering and their burnt offering to the Lord. And yet this tragedy has happened to me. If I had eaten the people’s sin offering on such a tragic day as this, would the Lord have been pleased?” 20And when Moses heard this, he was satisfied.

Lord God my Father,

Cause my heart to desire obedience to you without judgment of others. Help me to stay in focus of you alone. Keep me from arguing with your principles and my desires.

“When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to overcome my sin nature and to bring my struggle to your altar. Help me to be under your authority and not fall to temptation.
