When I was in my prime, God’s friendship was felt in my home.

“I thought, ‘Surely I will die surrounded by my family after a long, good life.

When they were discouraged, I smiled at them. My look of approval was precious to them.

For God has cut my bowstring. He has humbled me,

“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust at a young woman. 2For what has God above chosen for us? What is our inheritance from the Almighty on high?

“Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold? 25Have I gloated about my wealth and all that I own?

Lord God my Father,

You own my heart, keep me under your protection. Help me to continue on this journey of releasing my desires and replace them with yours. Your plan is perfect and your Peace is all powerful. Help me to represent you well today and keep my judgement at bay. Your desire brings peace to myself and those around me, I just create stress. Continue on your journey of shaping me in your image in my spirit.

“I vow by the living God, who has taken away my rights, by the Almighty who has embittered my soul— 3As long as I live, while I have breath from God, 4my lips will speak no evil, and my tongue will speak no lies. 5I will never concede that you are right; I will defend my integrity until I die. 6I will maintain my innocence without wavering. My conscience is clear for as long as I live.

“God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found,

And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me close and strong so I may not be drawn to deceit but stay in your Truth. Only by removing the ways of my nature can I allow your nature to rest on me. May I live today under your authority in your delight and power.

(They think their prosperity is of their own doing, but I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking.)

“How can your empty clichés comfort me? All your explanations are lies!”

Even sinners will be rescued; they will be rescued because your hands are pure.”

God has made me sick at heart; the Almighty has terrified me. 17Darkness is all around me; thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere.

Lord God my Father,

You are almighty overall. What you do with me is your decision, I have no control. Keep me so close that your greatness is my hope. Whatever today holds is your choice, how I respond is mine. All I am is because of your plan, keep me from struggling to understand but shape me to respond in a way that honors you. I am broken from who I am and your way is my only delight.

No, my hope will go down with me to the grave. We will rest together in the dust!”

Even if I have sinned, that is my concern, not yours. 5You think you’re better than I am, using my humiliation as evidence of my sin. 6But it is God who has wronged me,

“Have mercy on me, my friends, have mercy, for the hand of God has struck me. 22Must you also persecute me, like God does? Haven’t you chewed me up enough?

“But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. 26And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God!

You should fear punishment yourselves, for your attitude deserves punishment.

Lord God my Father,

As you allow evil to have its way, I struggle to be at Peace with you. Lord God, protect me from trying to change the world to my will and allow me to be still as your plan plays out. Ultimate Truth, your Truth is perfect and I am unable to fathom it. Thank you for your patience with me and help me find ways to release my desire to control you. In your plan is where my peace rest.

“I wish you would hide me in the grave and forget me there until your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again!

“Were you the first person ever born? Were you born before the hills were made? 8Were you listening at God’s secret council? Do you have a monopoly on wisdom? 9What do you know that we don’t?

“If you will listen, I will show you. I will answer you from my own experience.

My friends scorn me, but I pour out my tears to God. 21I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends.

Lord God my Father,

You are Lord over it all, my understanding is insignificant. You are with me in my struggles and the more I trust you and know you, the more I allow your comfort to rest on me. Keep me from trying to have answers for the struggles and allow your plan to rest on me as you desire. My experience is a joke, only you know the truth. Thank you for making me clean with the work of Jesus.

 And God saw that it was good.

In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!

And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.

 I will make a helper who is just right for him.

“You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5“God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”

Lord God my Father,

You are everything good and I am made in your image. Allow your Truth to rest well with me and guide me. Keep me under your authority and protect me from the deceiver. Help me to live by your design and not my decisions. Keep me from falling.

Those who are at ease have contempt for misfortune as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; 8or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. 9Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light. 23He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them. 24He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he makes them wander in a trackless waste. 25They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face. 16Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance, for no godless person would dare come before him!

“Only grant me these two things, God, and then I will not hide from you: 21Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors. 22Then summon me and I will answer, or let me speak, and you reply to me. 23How many wrongs and sins have I committed? Show me my offense and my sin.

Lord God my Father,

Thank you for the struggles so I may delight in the delivery. Open my heart so I may join in your plan as you designed me to. Lord, I am stubborn and hard hearted, thank you for getting my attention as you need to. Thank you for how you never move, keep me from overthinking your plan and trust without condition.

If someone wanted to take God to court, would it be possible to answer him even once in a thousand times? 4For God is so wise and so mighty. Who has ever challenged him successfully?

If it’s a question of strength, he’s the strong one. If it’s a matter of justice, who dares to summon him to court?

“God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial. 33If only there were a mediator between us, someone who could bring us together.

Lord God my Father,

Your plan is perfect, yet I am in terror. In the name of Jesus Christ, I cry out to you and ask for your mercy. Protect me from disaster and allow me to carry your strength personally. Hold me up and be my foundation for today’s struggles, without you I could not even breathe. Thank you for this day and whatever it holds, I pray we can be in agreement on a delightful day, your will be done.

“I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”

Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”

 “You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

No one said a word to Job, for they saw that his suffering was too great for words.

Lord God my Father,

Everything good comes from you, I have nothing you didn’t give me. Allow your Peace to be my guide and your truth to protect me. Keep Satan at bay and allow me to live your will. Keep foolishness from resting in my thoughts.

Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt.

Lord God my Father,

Protect me and keep my heart in constant desire of you so the darkness can’t find me. Keep me so close I only desire your good and not my sin nature.
