Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 10He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority.

For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 20And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. 21It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.”2:22 Prov 26:11. And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me a heart that delights in your way. Protect me from the evil that want’s me. Help me to only have one desire which is to honor you in all my ways.

Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

 Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 2by observing your pure and reverent lives.

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 

Lord God my Father,

Keep me close and far from my old ways. Create in me a desire to be holy under your desire. Allow you Love to be seen and felt to bring strength to others as well as me. Allow my life to speak of you and allow your gentle spirit to rest powerfully with me.

So the two disciples went into the city and found everything just as Jesus had said, and they prepared the Passover meal there.

“I tell you the truth, Peter—this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.”

31“No!” Peter declared emphatically. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

Many false witnesses spoke against him, but they contradicted each other. 

But Jesus said nothing, much to Pilate’s surprise.

But at this point the leading priests stirred up the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas instead of Jesus.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to follow your plan without question and believe your words whole heartedly. Give me discernment for your desire above all else and be still in your presence. Keep me from falling to the world.

“Get away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

He said this because he didn’t really know what else to say, for they were all terrified.

The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Jesus replied, “This kind can be cast out only by prayer.

 “But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck. 

You must have the qualities of salt among yourselves and live in peace with each other.”

I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

“Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.

27Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to see you and not my limited way. Give me the words you want me to speak and keep me from thinking about it from my understanding. Help me with my desire to know your plan which is beyond my understanding. Use me to represent you well to others, help me to be your child and allow your possibilities to to rest with me.

“Have faith in God. 23I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. 25But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.

But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. 5But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil.

Lord God my Father,

I know who you are, and I have no doubt in your power. Protect me from having any doubt in the power of my faith. Keep me humble but strong in the power of my prayers that are under your authority. Keep me from thinking so I may allow your spirit to have its way with me. Give me a heart that forgives others without reservation so I may be without judgement as I pray. Keep me close with others who truly know you.

But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. 36And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?

If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

“You faithless people! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”

The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me close so Satan has no access, allow me to see more from your view rather than mine. Help me to live only for you and not for me. Your Glory alone is what I want to live for, give me a faith that cries out for you in delightful boldness.

 “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more. 25To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given.

“Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

So Jesus gave them permission. The evil spirits came out of the man and entered the pigs,

“Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”

Lord God my Father,

Help me to surrender my will to your care, keep me in your confidence and strength. Release the strongholds evil has in my life and give me a faith that conquers all fears.

Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” 42Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.

“The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. 

At once the Pharisees went away and met with the supporters of Herod to plot how to kill Jesus.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Lord God my Father,

Your compassion overwhelms me and your willingness restores me. It’s not about my desires, it’s about my needs and you know me so much better than I do. Protect me from my opinion and allow your will to be restored in me. Watch over me and keep me from sin.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!

Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. 14Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. 15Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. 

Lord God my Father,

Only with you do I have value, keep me close and protect me from wondering off. Bless my family and allow me to speak your words of comfort. Forgive me from my past ways and cause me to be close to your will today.

Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.

But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth.

It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. 

All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. 40For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.

So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.

May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

Lord God my Father,

Allow my desire to only be with you, protect me from my own desires. I wish to keep my focus on only your desire for me. Your destiny is the only way to my perfect home. Keep my thoughts from bringing compromise to my faith. Your strength is all I need. Cause me to carry my faith in such a way that others desire you, give me your strength. Your Love is the only future worth pursuing.
