Laughter can conceal a heavy heart, but when the laughter ends, the grief remains.

A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.

For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.

Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!

Lord God my Father,

Your peace restores me and brings healing and strength. Keep me peaceful in all my endeavors. Hold me up in times of despair and help me to trust your plan. Help me to share your desire through my actions.

Walk with the wise and become wise;

associate with fools and get in trouble.

“I love all who love me Those who search will surely find me.

I was his constant delight, rejoicing always in his presence. 31And how happy I was with the world he created; how I rejoiced with the human family!

People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.

Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.

Lord God my Father,

Thank you Lord for allowing me to come close, your delight leads me, your design for family inspires me. Keep me close and guide me with your Truth, keep me safe from deception.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you.

Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. 16She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. 17She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying.

Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. 26Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. 27Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

Lord God my Father,

Your way leads me to a delightful life, keep me close so I don’t wonder away. Keep my mind still so I can hear your desire above my own, yours is perfect. Protect me from distractions.

God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore.

May the king’s rule be refreshing like spring rain on freshly cut grass, like the showers that water the earth. 7May all the godly flourish during his reign. May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.

Lord God my Father,

Give me wisdom, not to make me great, but to allow me to expose your glory through me. Make me so Peaceful that the lost seek the same peace you placed in me,

When the queen of Sheba realized how very wise Solomon was, and when she saw the palace he had built, 5she was overwhelmed.

How happy your people must be! What a privilege for your officials to stand here day after day, listening to your wisdom! 8Praise the Lord your God, who delights in you and has placed you on the throne as king to rule for him. Because God loves Israel and desires this kingdom to last forever, he has made you king over them so you can rule with justice and righteousness.”

Lord God my Father,

Give me wisdom that is beyond my knowledge, keep me humble and under your authority. Cause me to share your goodness in a way to make your glory obvious.

And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the Lord be before him constantly, day and night, so that the Lord our God may give justice to me and to his people Israel, according to each day’s needs.

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

‘Why did the Lord do such terrible things to this land and to this Temple?’

22“And the answer will be, ‘Because his people abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why he has brought all these disasters on them.’”

Lord God my Father,

Help me develop a heart that only worships you and pleases you. I am your servant first, shape me into your design. I am nothing, worthless without your Love, help me turn from my broken ways. Keep me from disappointment and shame.

“He is good! His faithful love endures forever!”

 and if they turn to you and acknowledge your name and pray to you here in this Temple, 34then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people

and if your people Israel pray about their troubles, raising their hands toward this Temple, 39then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart.

But in that land of exile, they might turn to you in repentance and pray, ‘We have sinned, done evil, and acted wickedly.’ 

Nevertheless, listen to my prayer and my plea, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is making to you.

Lord God my Father,

You are good and faithful, help me to place all my trust in you, forgive me for moving my focus from you. You are my hope and Peace, hear my cry and give me a delightful heart that protects me from the ever present darkness. Give my heart what it desires, your Love and Peace as you designed it to rest on me.

Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have! 13And I will also give you what you did not ask for—riches and fame! 

Lord God my Father,

Help me to be still in my thoughts so I may hear you without distraction. Help me to honor you with all my thoughts and actions, allow my words to be a comfort to others.

O Lord, pay back our neighbors seven times for the scorn they have hurled at you. 13Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever and ever, praising your greatness from generation to generation.

Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

Lord God my Father,

When will you be fed up with the sinful hearts of this world and cleanse it. Your Greatness is overwhelming. Sin thinks it is winning but your people stand fast with your Glory. Give a courageous heart to your people and cause them to stand in your Truth and Peace.
