My place,,

So the Lord saved them by giving them a great victory.

So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew some water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But David refused to drink it. Instead, he poured it out as an offering to the Lord.

Lord God my Father,

Help me to surrender my desire so you may have your way with me, Use me to do your will in this world, Help me to understand my place in your troops.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Walk His way!

David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Lord God my Father,

Give me wisdom to walk in this world in such a way the lost seek you. Allow your peace to flow thru me and inspire others to seek you.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Lead not pushed

“No!” David said. “Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the Lord’s anointed one? 10Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle. 11The Lord forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed!

I think you should go with me into battle, for I’ve never found a single flaw in you from the day you arrived until today.

My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help.This I know: God is on my side!10I praise God for what he has promised;

Lord God my Father,

Help me to see as you see, Help me to act as you want me to act, Help me to be lead by only you and not pushed by this world.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Quiet enough to allow

But the servant said, “I’ve just thought of something! There is a man of God who lives here in this town. He is held in high honor by all the people because everything he says comes true. Let’s go find him.

Now the Lord had told Samuel the previous day, 16“About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him to be the leader of my people, Israel.

At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

As Saul turned and started to leave, God gave him a new heart, and all Samuel’s signs were fulfilled that day.

When Saul returned to his home at Gibeah, a group of men whose hearts God had touched went with him. 27But there were some scoundrels who complained, “How can this man save us?” And they scorned him and refused to bring him gifts. But Saul ignored them.

Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he became very angry.

Lord God my Father,

Keep my heart open to hear you, remove distractions that slow my response to you, may your spirit come on me in powerful ways so I may delight in your way. Give me strength to do your will to reveal your light to the darkness the way you wish.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Nothing without Him

I will praise the Lord at all times.I will constantly speak his praises.2I will boast only in the Lord;let all who are helpless take heart.

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.He freed me from all my fears.5Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

Lord God my Father,

Without you I am lost and desperate, give me your comfort and peace to have courage to do your will. Your way is wonderful and peaceful.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His plan is best.

But then David’s conscience began bothering him because he had cut Saul’s robe.

Who is the king of Israel trying to catch anyway? Should he spend his time chasing one who is as worthless as a dead dog or a single flea? 15May the Lord therefore judge which of us is right and punish the guilty one. He is my advocate, and he will rescue me from your power!”

“You are a better man than I am, for you have repaid me good for evil. 18Yes, you have been amazingly kind to me today,

“Even when you are chased by those who seek to kill you, your life is safe in the care of the Lord your God, secure in his treasure pouch! But the lives of your enemies will disappear like stones shot from a sling!

She bowed low to the ground and responded, “I, your servant, would be happy to marry David. I would even be willing to become a slave, washing the feet of his servants!”

Lord God my Father,

Give you discernment to my thoughts, keep me in my place and help me to give you complete freedom in my life, quiet my desires so I will allow you to handle all my struggles and defeat my enemy’s for me.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

I am His servant

When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go,

Then I pray to you, O Lord.I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.

“You will surely die, Ahimelech, along with your entire family!” the king shouted. 17And he ordered his bodyguards, “Kill these priests of the Lord, for they are allies and conspirators with David! They knew he was running away from me, but they didn’t tell me!” But Saul’s men refused to kill the Lord’s priests.

Then David prayed, “O Lord, God of Israel, I have heard that Saul is planning to come and destroy Keilah because I am here. 11Will the leaders of Keilah betray me to him?23:11 Some manuscripts lack the first sentence of 23:11. And will Saul actually come as I have heard? O Lord, God of Israel, please tell me.”And the Lord said, “He will come.”12Again David asked, “Will the leaders of Keilah betray me and my men to Saul?”And the Lord replied, “Yes, they will betray you.”

Lord God my Father,

You are in charge, you know what my every breath holds, may I rely solely on your desire to navigate thru this day and trust your desire without ponder. Make me obedient to you alone.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

His battle, my part.

and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! 37The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!”

David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword.

But on the way to Naioth in Ramah the Spirit of God came even upon Saul,

Lord God my Father,

Keep me focused on your way to the point I trust you to fight my battles with your outcome expected, help me to trust in Heaven’s armies having my back and that truth brings all glory to you. Overwhelm my enemy with your spirit.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Under His authority.

“I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been loyal to me and has refused to obey my command.”

“It’s true that the army spared the best of the sheep, goats, and cattle,” Saul admitted. “But they are going to sacrifice them to the Lord your God. We have destroyed everything else.”16Then Samuel said to Saul, “Stop!

So Samuel did as the Lord instructed.

The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them.

And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on.

Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?”

Lord God my Father,

Keep me in your protection so you don’t regret my direction. Keep me in your power so I may not stray, I wish to be obedient to you over my own desire.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen

Clear priority

Saul realized that his troops were rapidly slipping away. 9So he demanded, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings!” And Saul sacrificed the burnt offering himself.

Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle.

“How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

“Perhaps the Lord will help us, for nothing can hinder the Lord. He can win a battle whether he has many warriors or only a few!”7“Do what you think is best,” the armor bearer replied. “I’m with you completely, whatever you decide.”

Suddenly, panic broke out in the Philistine army, both in the camp and in the field, including even the outposts and raiding parties. And just then an earthquake struck, and everyone was terrified.

Then Saul and all his men rushed out to the battle and found the Philistines killing each other. There was terrible confusion everywhere.

Lord God my Father,]

Help me to keep you as the priority in my actions, defeat my enemy and allow me to stay focused on your glory and not on my struggles.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen
