And David said to God, “I am the one who called for the census! I am the one who has sinned and done wrong! But these people are as innocent as sheep—what have they done? O Lord my God, let your anger fall against me and my family, but do not destroy your people.”

I will not take what is yours and give it to the Lord. I will not present burnt offerings that have cost me nothing!”

Lord God my Father,
I have sinned against you and my family is paying the price. Lord God I beg you to forgive me and deliver me from my guilt. Deliver me to a new day filled with your wonder. Direct my actions to bring you glory. Allow me to make amends and lead this family to follow you in all areas of our life. May we create a temple to bring you glory with the items you have trusted me with.
