Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife.

A youngster’s heart is filled with foolishness,
but physical discipline will drive it far away.

Lord God my Father,
Bless my family, give us wisdom in how we “hear” each other. Bring unity and understanding to our words and thoughts, remove pride and selfish thinking. Place your purpose for us in our hearts, make us wise in our hearts.

If you fail under pressure,
your strength is too small.

Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools,
or you will become as foolish as they are.

Strengthen me to be stronger than the task at hand. Give me pause when I don’t agree so I don’t argue.

good people receive their reward.

Spouting off before listening to the facts
is both shameful and foolish.

Lord God my Father,
Help me to be good and open my eyes where I am not looking forward. Place action in my nature. Protect me from quarrels, place your words in my spirit, calm my soul.

People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life,
but those who ignore correction will go astray.

A fool is quick-tempered,
but a wise person stays calm when insulted.

Lord God my Father,
Again I ask you to soften my heart and remove the nature I have developed that separates me from your desire for me. Restore me to how you created me to be. May I accept your discipline and be calm in all areas of my life.
