What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night,
thinking up evil plans.
You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out,
simply because you have the power to do so.
You are supposed to know right from wrong,

who hate good and love evil.
I will be patient as the Lord punishes me,
for I have sinned against him.
But after that, he will take up my case

Lord God my Father,
Remove the evil I carry, place me on your path and protect me from attack. Let me know right from wrong and punish me for my past sin. Destroy that sin and make me pure in your power.
