But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

From now on you will be called Israel,32:28 Jacob sounds like the Hebrew words for “heel” and “deceiver.” Israel means “God fights.” because you have fought with God and with men and have won.”

Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept.

Lord God my Father,

Develop in me the courage to be persistent with you in my prayers and actions. May I be strong in your eyes, strong enough to be used for great things on your behalf. May I be forgiving to others and my self to grow whole under your authority to do your will without compromise.
