Wisdom and Obedience

Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” 58And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.

So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.

Lord God,
Help me with my leadership of my family. Lord give me wisdom and obedience to act on your desire for me.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Powerful in Love

“What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind? 8Or were you expecting to see a man dressed in expensive clothes?

And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it.

Lord God,
Make me strong in your power, help me to stand firm for you, give me discernment to see evil and strength to stand against it in Love.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Do I run to or from God’s work for me.

Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone.

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Lord God,
Give me power over my desires to serve you completely, make me one of your workers, replace my desires with yours.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Do I produce fruit?

When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.

Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

Lord God,
Be with me, protect me, Make me pure with your spirit. May I produce much fruit for you alone.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Oh to have faith in my flesh.

“No!” Peter declared emphatically. “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!” And all the others vowed the same.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he broke down and wept.

Lord God,
My spirit is strong but my flesh is weak. Lord God, give me power over my flesh, help me to Live in my spirit and do your will not my own.
In Jesus name,
Amen

oh to trust my faith

but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. 37I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!”

Lord God,
Help me with my faith, help me to let go of all I have and see the truth, the fact it is all yours, I am only a steward. Lord God I have a selfish spirit, may it be humbled to your power, may I trust you with my needs and expect no more but may I live large in your glory.
In Jesus name,
Amen

To cast out the evil that lives in me.

Don’t you remember anything at all? 19When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?”
“Twelve,” they said.
20“And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?”
“Seven,” they said.
21“Don’t you understand yet?” he asked them.

“Get away from me, Satan!” he said. “You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
24The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

So if the Holy Spirit lives in me, can other spirits also be in me. Could that be where the struggle comes from. Why I do what I don’t want to and don’t do what I want to.

Lord God,
come into me and identify the evil that lives in me and cast it out. Protect me from desires that are not of you. Allow my spirit to be fully obedient to you.

In Jesus name,
Amen

May I give only Good answers

Then the king deeply regretted what he had said; but because of the vows he had made in front of his guests, he couldn’t refuse her. 27So he immediately sent an executioner to the prison to cut off John’s head and bring it to him.

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them.

They were totally amazed, 52for they still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in.

For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

“Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.”

Lord God,
Be with me today and help me to put you first before any decision I make today, May I have no regrets and may I hear Good answer from you today with all decisions I make.
In Jesus name,
Amen
